    @fgbjr That reminded me of the Hakkin-kairo (ハクキンカイロ) platinum catalytic hand warmers we had ages ago before the advent of the disposable iron-oxidation types.
    Found after a quick search that they still exist and provide heat for 24 hours on 25ml of fuel. Probably a tad heavier and more bulky together with higher initial cost and needing to be refuelled caused them to be overshadowed by the disposable types.
