Εμπρηστικός

Φλέγομαι, αλλά,
αν κλαίω, δάκρυα δεν
σβήνουν τις φλογές.

Incendiary

I am in flames, but
if I weep, my tears will not
put out the bonfire.

Another attempt at a Greek haiku / senryu. The translation is not entirely literal, in order to preserve the verse structure. As ever, if any native Greek speaker spots an error, I will be glad to be corrected.

Θύελλα

Βροχή, πλύνε, ως
δάκρυα Ανέμου, τον
πόνο ψυχής μου.

Storm

Rain, as the Wind's tears,
be the cleansing of the pain
that's within my soul.

(These are not direct translations, as I've aimed to keep the same syllable count, but similar sense. If any native Greek speaker finds an error in the Greek version, I would be grateful for the correction. Written without translation software)

Απ’ το αίμα μου,
και τις φλόγες, πιες⸱ ποτέ
απ’ την λύπη μου.
