Oh, look, here's me with that exact toy! Gotta be 83-85. There's a Sony SL-C7 Betamax VCR, the Sony Trinitron TV, the Sony separates hifi (with motorised turntable that slid in and out of the unit), and 746 telephone handset.
(Yeah, my Dad was a major #Sony fanboy)

Bazookasaurus?
That's quite obviously Redhorn The Terrible, to any kid who played with Zoids in the 80s 😀

@monkeyslunch
When my brother and I were young, we got a couple of very small zoids a couple years as like stocking stuffers for Christmas. (I think EMZ-05 below and maybe EMZ-01 or 02 among others.).Then one year we got this massive mammoth in the other picture.
I always thought these things were cool and fun to assemble.

Sometime I get bored and balance model kit parts together to recreate something silly. No, I'm not cutting that bit off the correct 80s kit to make it #warhammer #zoids

Anyone else play this game back in the day? Probably one of my top 3 gamecube games and easily the best zoids game I know to exist. #zoids #gamecube #ost

All three of the main ligers from Zoids: Genesis.
All three shot with a Helios 44M lens.
If you could only pilot one of the Genesis Ligers, which would you choose?

Actually finished him last night, but I wasn't feeling up to writing the alt text at the time.
I unfortunately broke a peg off trying to fight through a too-tight fit, so I had to cement one of the shields on. I don't think that'll actually hold particularly well, so I may need to drill to reinforce, but for now it's *fine.*
Good Boy's lookin' pretty fine now.
-
Starting with Nick's new digs, the caps are swapped from orange to black. It makes the orange on the shoulders stand out that much more, but... I think I'm fine with it.
Good Boy's body is finished. The AC cannon and other accessories will come later, maybe tomorrow.
It looks worse in pictures than in person, which is an odd contrast to, say, Natalia, who got a lot of compliments from people who only saw pictures of her, but whose flaws are apparent in person.
-
Sitting out the only pride thing I wanted to go to this year trying to want to live, so let's build a dog.
Remember Good Boy? He was my first, from January of 2023. The first pic is his core. It's going into a new body. That's right, my good boy is getting chassis surgery :3
The paint on the armour wound up a bit.. I dunno, marblier than it looked like it would before it fully set? It's alright, but kind of a disappointment after the effort put in.
Legs soon.
-
I had some more in the tank tonight, so I did the silver/lead grey mix and tackled everything that needs it. Shockingly, I wound up with enough of the mix, but not so much that I wound up dumping a bunch afterward.
This project is... well it's getting a little crowded, trying to keep everything with enough room to properly dry and set :blobcatgiggle:
There's four other (small) sprues I had to locate elsewhere too. By far the majority of this model is painted now.
-
Vega Obscura and the Berserk Fury. The main antagonists of the Zoids New Century Zero anime.
This is Kotobukiya HMM model kit.
All effects were done in camera: Micro LED for the eye, iPad for the background.
-
Day 1. Probably. Iunno, I might do more tonight.
Body, head, and weapons pieces done. The center sprue (E) didn't need a lot of paint, thankfully. Most of those pieces are from the command wolf's normal main gun, but this'll be an AC variant (note the sprue on the right) so I didn't paint them.
There's some bare plastic on the AC sprue as well, because I want to do the barrels in gunmetal. Finally, there's pieces which will need gold or silver detailing at the end.
-
Ho boy this is going to be a lot

The Bigasauru (ビガザウロ), or Giant ZRK, is a Diplodocus Zoid released as part of the original “white head” Zoids in the early 80s. One of the first large Zoids, it was soon outclassed by more advanced models. Still, the lumbering ZRK was a formidable foe in its time.

Garius (ガリウス), Mechagirus, Tyrannazoid, RMZ-01.
Originally released in 1981, this lanky Zoid has gone by many names and seen many battles.

If you go to Town1 postgame you can talk to the camper who tells you that his tent was destroyed by a Zoid.
After giving the daily weather report, you fight it and find that it has turned from blue to purple for some reason. A GBC exclusive game shouldn't be so limited in color palette where this was necessary? I think?
For the time being I don't plan to post anymore Perfect Silver 2002 screenshots. There's still a few postgame things to do but I've decided to move onto a different game for now.

Okay first of all, if this bonus boss flies, why did they stick it in a cave? Shouldn't they have put it somewhere else?
Second, how does it fly? Can't be with wings because those do not look like flyable wings. Maybe it uses thrusters or something instead.
Third, if it can't fly properly then how come I still can't hit it with physical attacks?

Well, I *only* just realized after beating the whole game that you can change the color of your Zoid on one of the status screen pages. It came help differentiate your caught Zoid if you happen to be fighting the exact same wild Zoid.
Plus you get to look cool.

I've noticed that for some reason the post-game bosses seem to just defend a lot if you break both of their weapons. You'd expect them to attack more often with their default attack but I guess not.
I don't know why but my only speculation is that the game still chooses to use the broken weapons but can't so switches to defending instead? They still do attack and break your weapons on occasion so maybe not. Dunno, but it sure makes them a lot easier given they all have like a gazillion HP and do a lot more damage compared to you.

You can also find and recruit previous bosses. One is found later in a previously locked door, but this one is just chilling on a cliffside.

Some early post-game discoveries:
You are finally able to enter those mysterious green doors you see but can't open. I remember 3 of them but I think there's an early 4th I can't remember the location of, oops.
So inside of them are bonus bosses like this big Zoid over here. As with catching a regular Zoid you (probably) need to destroy both of its weapons first. I'd recommend doing that in general anyhow since it greatly restricts how it can attack you.
I also got a D-Sensor for sensing those Ds, (please insert Deez joke here),

And finally the end credits. I've no clue what they mean and I kind of missed taking screenshots of stuff. I should have save stated during it so I could take better screenshots but oh well. Hindsight is 20-20.
At the very end we see (I think) Lalo in a vertical position looking upwards while the camera pans up to the sky with what looks like two different colored planets (or moons) in the sky.
I guess I've technically beaten Zoids: Shirogane no Juukishin Liger Zero :B
There seems to be some amount of post-game content as there were some locked doors in various areas you could return to. I saw four but quite awkwardly I don't remember the location of the very first door. I think I'm going to go and play some of that now.

This is most EXP I've gotten from any Zoid, boss or otherwise. But I guess that makes sense since it's the final boss. It has like 2500 HP and auto-heals 50 HP per turn. However, a way to counter this was to equip my Zoid with a part that auto-counters any physical attack with half the damage taken which was more than 50 meaning I wasn't constantly losing progress.
It's actually the second form of one of the earlier bosses in the game (that runs away after you defeat it).

Who is Swivet, is that the name of the giant Zoid? How do you know that?
Oh by the way, this is Sawl (probably Saul). He is essentially a minor antagonist during the game due to being part of a different kingdom? The opening exposition is not too clear and the translation isn't the greatest. He works with you in order to return to the surface.

There's an elevator every five floors, but as you may expect, you only unlock *after* you get to the very top.
Also, this thing only goes down one floor (so to speak) at a time. If you want to get to the bottom you'd need to go down to 15, get out, go down to 10, get out, and so on and so forth. Not that you really need it, I dunno if it's because I've grinded but I've been able to escape 99% of wild encounters with Zoids so my HP and AP were all good when it came to each of the three bosses you encounter on the way up.
Also there's a shop and repair station in here. There's never an explanation for how they keep showing up in places either.

Having to go through a cave to reach this final tower reminds me of having to go through a cave to reach the Crystal Tower in Final Fantasy III.
Apparently this tower is supposed to be a Zoid they created in an attempt to reach the surface world and it's emitting a signal (or something) causing Zoids to become more violent.

The game lets you walk down a long corridor to find... nothing. At least there's a nice moving walkway to take you back where you just trudged over from.

Once again the game taunts you by giving you an "upgrade" that comes with a Special Attack with an AP cost higher than your (probable) max AP.
Anyways, I'll do my best to avoid making the whole fucked up artifacts screenshots in the future.

Yes, these are pictures. Photos even. 3D photos in fact.
Also, I consulted the walkthrough as I had missed one of the replacement weights but as it was bare bones it doesn't tell you where it is. Just that it's in the previous area. By the way, the weights are "scales" in your inventory which I assume is a careless translation similar to the vines thing earlier.

This invisible floor puzzle gives you hints every time you mess up. Or at least it says so on the walkthrough I consulted for other reasons, here it just repeatedly reminds you that going in the same direction will be wrong as you travel through the maze. Although given the fact that the walkthrough is incredibly bare bones, being told to stop is probably the "hint".

Also the walkthrough doesn't actually tell you what to do so here's a spoiler:

New cryptid just dropped. Well, actually looking it up, the Virginia Creeper is actually a plant and probably a terrible translation of "vines".
