  1. Did you know you can make a #natural #vegan bubble gum at home with nothing but wheat flour? The texture is perfect and you really can make bubbles!

Just mix som flour with water, leave it for 10 minutes then rinse it under a running water for a few minuter. That's pure gluten. That's how you would make #seitan, the vegan replacement for meat. It's tasteless. It feels exactly like a bubble gum.

You can work in some powdered #xylitol for sweetness and dental benefits and give it to your #child. It will strengthen their jaws and protect them from cavities.

There were studdies that a chewing gum releases microplastics, since most of them are synthetic.

    Well my recipe won't.

  2. #Xylit ist mir in Haushalt mit #Hund zu gefährlich.
    ++++

Was ist denn hier los? 🤔

  4. #Xylitol consumption may have prothrombotic effects via platelet activation and thereby increase the risk for major adverse cardiovascular events (#MACE). 🧪🩺

  5. If you use artificial sweeteners, especially xylitol, you really should read this. While promoted as "completely natural" this product does some awful things to your body.

Kaissekin menee siihen #makeiset veronkorotukseen, eikä lasketa suuterveydelle edulliseksi asiaksi, minkä myötä sitä voisi kohdella helläkätisemmin.

Peanut Butter Alert for Your Pets

A new type of peanut butter (and other nut butters) is being sold with less sugar, but now includes xylitol as a sweetener. That is what is being used in sugarless gum and it can be deadly to dogs. Many people use peanut butter as a dog treat, or to fill a Kong, or disguise medications; if they now use the type with xylitol, it could be very dangerous.

    Further information from the FDA:

    fda.gov/consumers/consumer-upd

Apparently it can trigger hypoglycemia in dogs which then leads to vomiting followed by decreased activity, weakness, staggering, incoordination, collapse and seizures. Untreated, it can be fatal.

  9. Xylitol == birch sugar == birch sap == deadly for dogs, some other animals

Many don't know that #xylitol (found in many sugar-free products — including some peanut butters) is especially toxic for dogs, but also can cause problems for (at least) cats and ferrets.

Those who do know *that* often don't know it can be listed as birch sugar or birch sap instead of xylitol.

  10. I would think that my oral health doesn’t suffer much from me being able to brush my #teeth only once a day, because I just consume some liquids and jello (I can’t eat solid food due to #gastroparesis). But I’m trying to look after it, so I’ve started chewing #xylitol gum 3 times a day for 15-20 minutes at a time, as per the instructions on the label.

It sounds like nothing but it still is a non negligible effort with severe #MECFS. Hope I can keep it up, my mouth does feel fresher and cleaner.

  11. @novid He and his girlfriend slept in different rooms and, as previously stated, didn’t come into contact unless they were both donning #respirators correctly.

He used nasal spray with #xylitol round the clock, plus mouthwash with #cpc.

He kept close track of his #vitals and recorded any possible symptoms/changes (which consisted of a small headache, probably more due to the stress of trying to stay #CovidNegative when #XBB was in his personal space!).

  12. He’s using nose spray with #xylitol and mouthwash with #CPC multiple times daily, opening all windows possible (they’re in Chicago, so it’s pretty cold!), hydrating, taking multivitamins…

I hope it’s enough to help him from feeling the brunt of whichever #XBB child he’s been exposed to.

  13. @novid

#MedicalProfessionals should know better. 3+ years into the #pandemic, they should already be aware of the fact that it’s no more difficult to breathe while wearing a high quality respirator than it is when not wearing one. And I told them as much.

I’ve been using mouthwash containing #CPC and nose spray with #xylitol every few hours for the last 24 hours, crossing my fingers, and feeling lucky to have gotten 2x #Novavax in the past four months. But still a little nervous.

  14. Friendly reminder that is poisonous to dogs. Spent 20 minutes frantic as hell because my beast of a dog tore into a brand new pact of gum. Googled what could happen and got horrified. Dug through the trash to realize at worst he maybe ate only one piece. Thankfully he's 150lbs, but monitoring to make sure he's okay.
