Unfortunately an incident occurred during his time running Xero which RNZ refers to as "misconduct". The woman involved (yes, *that* type of misconduct) said she felt compelled to come forward after Drury was awarded the New Zealander of the Year title.
Xero has hired Maria Dew, KC to investigate the matter.

Oh, why am I spending my morning looking through the source code of a Chrom(ium) extension that clicks OK buttons repeatedly, you ask?
Because I have about 1,000 transactions from Stripe from our Gaza Verified Emergency Appeal to reconcile in Xero and apparently the galaxy brains at Big Business, Inc., think that making you click a button 1,000 times is just fine, actually.

Half marathon training
Week 18, run 2/3Today just a light sporadic discomfort on both knees and my right calf wasn't tight at all.
I am more relaxed now and I believe to have overcome the most difficult phase in transitioning to forefoot strike.For the past 3 weeks outside walking has been with #minimalistShoes only. I can already notice improved toes mobility (the main point), but I will talk about the #Xero shoes later in a dedicated thread.

Post-run barefoot shoes update 2: the tightness got worse yesterday and now I'm rating it at 5/10.
I will skip #running today, and do a strength and mobility session instead. -
At this point, it's now a risk whenever I log in to something I use that the risk of seeing a new message: "we've slapped AI into our product! We fail in basic other ways that could have been addressed first. But no here's an #LLM prompt which may or may not be useless." It's basically a micro-aggression at this point. Latest is #Xero accounting.

And I feel a light tightness on my right calf that I would rate at 3/10. Nothing to worry about if it goes away tomorrow. -
Half marathon training
Week 16, run 1/3Knee problem is gone 🎉 and I went out for an easy run with my new and first pair of #barefoot #running shoes: the #Xero Aqua X Sport.
From the first strides some differences are striking: overstriding hurts the heel and there's no energy returned because there's no cushioning.
Therefore even being light on your feet is enforced and core engagement is crucial.
I got the hang of it after 20'. -
@fo @randomized @robchapman In the European website they just provide a size conversion between US, EU and UK shoe sizes.
I tested mine today, went for a run and they fit fine, but I guess I was lucky in picking the right size.
My Nike Infinity Run 4 are size 40.5, my Brooks are 40 and I bought the Xero Aqua Sport in size 40 too. My regular shoe size is 39, sometimes 38.5

I logged into my accounting system (Xero) this morning to discover yet another AI chatbot.
Their first example of something you can ask the chatbot is "how much do I have in outstanding invoices?"
Dear reader, this is a number displayed prominently on the dashboard of the application. If you can't find this number without a chatbot, you shouldn't be anywhere near an accounting system.
Fuck me.

A case of #enshittification that I find annoying is bookkeeping and accounting programs.
#Freshbooks #Xero and #Wave used to be affordable and fully featured until your business grew beyond a few clients.
Seemed like a fair deal for freelancers where you would pay them once you became a "real business". -
Was just blown away by a new capability in the #Xero accounting app… it will import the line items / records in a bank statement in PDF format for reconciliation. Assuming this is AI, that's a great application of the technology. This saves me about an hour each month. #SmallBusinessAccounting
