@petrillic far out, Brussels sprout! The last thing I aim for with my hobbies is efficiency!
I’ve been “working on” fixing all my europluses almost as long as I’ve been hosting #WOzFest!
-
And, of course there’s no use having a portable if you don’t take it places – Sláinte!
This is going to be my tinkering machine when I’m away from #WOzFest HQ between WOzFests. Between it and my (yet to have repairs finished) IIc, I’ll have an easier time playing to Apple ][ stuff in my cramped one-bedroom unit, including wanting to get back into playing with the FujiNet.
I’ll post a separate thread some time soon about some of my experimentation with the machine in general, as well as a few different types of interface cards in Slot 5.
By the way, I wasn’t gentle enough with the power supply and broke a blade off! Probably for the best. Have a PSU which will charge the battery, and I’ll pick up a replacement 12V 3.5+A one tomorrow.
That’s it for tonight – thanks for playing…
WHAT’S IN THE BOX, europlus?!
-
Later today I’ll play “What’s In The Box That Arrived Earlier This Morning?”
I promised myself I’d make sure to do some work first, and I have to grab some supporting materials from #WOzFest HQ I forgot to grab when I was there yesterday.

@Netzblockierer @NanoRaptor we’ve had international visitors, including at #WOzFest-1 in 2015.
-
@NanoRaptor Critical #WOzFest HQ infrastructure (stores apple cider).
Your work features :)

@adamengst @TidBITS @macdude22 I, a humble Apple ][ europlus, in my humble #WOzFest HQ abode, maintain certificates for several services and websites at zero cost and minimal effort, so I humbly submit…
This. Is. The. Absolute. Fucking. Minimum. An. International. Behemoth. Can. Take. The. Fucking. Trouble. To. Do.
…in all humility.

@tschak hey Thomas, sorry I’ve relatively fallen by the wayside since my Juiced.GS review and documentation work – I’ve had a bit of a bout of real life, and have felt constrained in a lot of ways.
I’m hoping something I’m trying to pull together stabilises a lot of things for me, including putting more energy back into my Apple ][ efforts, including #FujiNet.
#WOzFest 44 tomorrow (12:00-22:00 UTC+10) if you’d like to join to chat.
PS for anyone wondering, no, this wasn’t only intended to be a private message 🤣
PPS Thomas, try out the Motter Tektura Retro font which has many of the Apple-modified glyphs https://youtu.be/XBqhLd6mMKw

Hey, fellow Apple ][ geeks!
A call to arms! FujiNet is, I think, a massively untapped gold mine of possibilities, and this short video gives some taste of file operations.
But as @tschak says, this is just the start.
I was excited to see GDrive added recently across the FujiNet range, and have already impressed some people showing running disk images directly from the Asimov FTP server.
I’m looking forward to trying GDrive out on my FujiNet tomorrow at #WOzFest 44. It’s sat idle for a while, as my retrocomputing generally, but it deserves an update so I can take it for a spin again.

@_the_cloud I’m playing with it on the #WOzFest HQ zone – I had a failed print job on Saturday (I may have shut the server down, will check that later), but I can’t see the details shown in the Log window as they’re not preserved.
Feature request: can we get a log text file created capped at SimpleText’s maximum text file size showing Log entries? Then I could have seen which IP sent it as it received >50k of data, so would have gotten to the “Spooling to file” line.
Thanks again for this!

@decryption I’m thinking of remaking it as an SVG with vector type (and regenerated unblurry icons), so I’ll let you know.
I may commission a batch for #WOzFest 43 in 3 weeks.

#MARCHintosh 2026 Kickoff, Plans
Happy New #MARCHintosh!
This is my third #MARCHintosh, and, unlike last year, I’m not particularly well-prepared.
I do have many thoughts, however, and some news on WOzFest 43 later this month (and the others this year).
After the successful launch of my Apple Internet Router Administrator’s Guide—Addendum last year, I am planning on some updates with new tools having been released, and perhaps covering more emulation options for getting on GlobalTalk.
For the third year running, I’ll work on my GlobalTalk/AIR disk image sets, adding more applications to the installer image.
To extend my printer offerings (Brother printer and virtual PDF printer via CUPS, netatalk, and LaserWriter drivers) I will be experimenting with the two virtual ImageWriter solutions which have been developed by Ken McCloud and Paul Rickards – the PDF output from these is more dot-matrix like than the virtual PDF via LaserWriter driver could ever be, so definitely gives a retro vibe.
I do still have my “secret project” in mind, but may or may not work on it this year. If I do, I’ll definitely crowdsource the next stage, as it’s proving quite hard for me to find the time to do by myself.
Towards the end of the month, I’ll be holding WOzFest 43 – this year’s schedule is:
WOzFest 43: 28 March 2026 – Apple 50th Anniversary Celebration
WOzFest 44: 23 May 2026
WOzFest 45: 25 July 2026
WOzFest 46: 26 September 2026
WOzFest 47: 28 November 2026This may be a joint event with the Australian Computer Museum Society, as they’re likely to also be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Apple (on 1 April). If it is, it’ll be the first “full” WOzFest which is offsite from WOzFest HQ.
I’ll mostly be posting on Mastodon, with the #MARCHintosh and #GlobalTalk hashtags, with maybe some update here.

@kalleboo I’m one of _these_ retro nerds, my systems are (currently) all virtual, except my modern Brother printer (I am, unsurprisingly, an Apple ][ guy). I also have a CUPS-based Print to PDF “printer”.
Last year, I spent a lot of time developing virtual machine resources to simplify getting online (some of which which can be [and were] used to get real hardware connected, too [think pre-populated disk images]).
Last year, I put received print jobs on a roller blind in #WOzFest HQ (aka The Man Cave) – I think I received more this year, but real life was seriously intruding right about then.
I also raised funds last year to buy an original boxed copy of the backbone of #GlobalTalk – Apple Internet Router – which I’ll be donating to the Australian Computer Museum.
This year’s major project was scanning the AIR manual and creating an addendum about GlobalTalk, see https://blog.europlus.zone/resources/air-admins-guide-addendum-and-globaltalk-setup-files-v1-0-4-released-for-marchintosh-2025/
Check out the GlobalTalk tag on my blog, too:
https://blog.europlus.zone/tag/globaltalk/
I’m already planning some things for next year, and my zones have (mostly) stayed online (old systems crash, doncha know?!).
All this to say…join us…JOIN US…

OK, mucking around with the Ubuntu machine which hosts the #WOzFest HQ #GlobalTalk AIR system has resulted in it falling off the perch.
It’s *just* inconvenient enough for me to say “Sod it, I’ll deal with it on Saturday”, when I’m actually next planned to be at WOzFest HQ (for WOzFest 42).
I hope I figure out the question.

@gsuberland even for sneakernet they’re useless because they’re even easy to lose in small enclosed spaces!
Ask me how I know. #WOzFest HQ
-
@nutjob4life yeah, I’ve printed it on magnetic printer paper and thrown it in the fridge at #WOzFest HQ 🙂
-
@decryption a few days before #WOzFest 40 (26 July 2025).
-
@ctb31 Check out https://github.com/rallepalaveev/A2DVI and try mine at #WOzFest 39

@ApplesauceFluxes has been posting for 5 years 2 months!
So 2025 is 10 years of #WOzFest and 5 of the flux image bot! I should start a new project*!
*No, I should not (but I’ve now got myself thinking :/ )

#WOzFest 38.1 yesterday was great fun.
Jon brought a repro Pac Man board and worked on Ian’s Second Sight card, Tony brought lots of goodies for giveaway, Steve worked on retro scans, David tried to get his IIe working, Tim got his Mac Classic working, Adrian populated his MacEffects IIc clear case, and we all got to meet Dolly (whose project was to chase a ball and warn us of intruders!
Four first-timers (incl. Dolly).
Jon and Steve have arrived for Day 2, looking forward to other attendees arriving!

A piece of swag for the #WOzFest 10th Anniversary Celebration three day extravaganza on 25-27 April 2025 arrived today from @decryption in Mexico – I think they _just_ snuck in under the tariff radar!
Thanks for the awesome stickers, AA!

The official end of #MARCHintosh at #WOzFest HQ #GlobalTalk Print Shop was marked by this poignant print from @kalleboo, sent 20 minutes before the end of March, Anywhere on Earth.
While March is officially over, #GlobalTalk lives on, even during its relative 11 month hibernation between MARCHintoshes.
