The sun was shining this morning and the birds were out and about, singing and being busy. Felt a bit like spring. It put me in mind of this wonderful tune by the mighty Willie 'The Lion' Smith, a master of Harlem Stride. Their left hand is so solid but that right hand! Wow it sure finds some pretty notes to play. I love this tune.

Guten Morgen - heute mit der Big Band von Jimmie Lunceford und dem Saxophonisten Willie Smith (25.11.1910-7.3.1967), dem dritten Giganten der Swingära am Altsax neben Johnny Hodges und Benny Carter, leider inzwischen ziemlich in Vergessenheit geraten. Das Trompetensolo spielt wohl Snooky Young.
