More documentation of Spanish, French, and Catalan programmer jargon at #Wikimania2026: I've added the word "merge" in the sense of "Combine several versions of a file" (`git merge`) to the English #Wiktionary
It said "merger" in Spanish, and all the Spanish speakers here said they never heard it. Some mentioned the possibility of the Anglicism "mergear", but most preferred "fusionar" or "combinar".
I also added Hebrew and Russian translations, of course.

Every now and then, I quite randomly post this link to what is perhaps the best page in the whole world of Wikimedia wiki websites, especially if you know English, which is the article "thank you" in the English #Wiktionary:

Scroll a bit down to "Translations", and click "show" at "an expression of gratitude". You'll see translations of "thank you" into more than 500 languages.

Probably unexpected result of this post and its reposting by @brooke : I added another sense to the page "slagheap" on the English #Wiktionary, giving this @eff blog post as one of the citations. The other two come from The New York Times and The Guardian.
The English Wiktionary asks for three citations to prove that a word is used with this sense. Not everyone actually adds them, but I try to.
I hope that my Wiktionary edits are not a slagheap. Do tell me if you think that they are.

Bless #wiktionary and all its works. It can be a bit of a Cinderella project sometimes, but it's a wonderful resource that deserves more praise.
I've been editing a long story with dozens of clippings (sometimes pluralised), slang from around the Commonwealth, declined verbified nouns, etc, and I've never had access to a dictionary quite as good as wiktionary.
Maybe they're all in the OED (though I doubt it), but wiktionary is so convenient and free.

This is the chart of page views for the pages "pomni" and "помни" (same thing in Cyrillic) in the English #Wiktionary.
The peaks coincide with the release of the first and the last episode of the animated series The Amazing Digital Circus. "Pomni" is the name of one of its main characters.
I speak Russian, so I immediately knew that it's the imperative form of the verb "remember". It means the same in Czech and Slovene, but is written in the Latin alphabet.

Sans compter conjugaisons, pluriels, définitions enrichies et milliers d’entrées dans d’autres langues…Tout cela par des bénévoles, dans une plateforme collaborative, gratuite et ouverte !

В задачах обработки естественного языка (NLP) часто требуется список слов русского языка. Такой список может использоваться как базовый фильтр для выявления неизвестных и потенциально некорректных слов. Одним из распространённых инструментов для работы с русским текстом является библиотека pymorphy (pymorphy2 / pymorphy3), основанная на корпусе русского языка OpenCorpora . Она предназначена для морфологического анализа текстов и, в том числе, позволяет проверять, известно ли слово встроенному словарю библиотеки. Однако словарь pymorphy ориентирован на нормативную лексику и морфологию. В нём отсутствует значительная часть имён собственных, топонимов, заимствований, разговорной и современной лексики. Поэтому при использовании pymorphy для фильтрации текста возникают ложные срабатывания, много редких и нестандартных слов определяются как неизвестные (что мы увидим ниже в разделе сравнения словарей). Для повышения полноты выявления неизвестных слов я решил собрать свой максимально широкий список слов русского языка для задач NLP. Такой список слов можно получить на основе данных сайта Wiktionary (Викисловарь) . Wiktionary - это открытый многоязычный словарь, в котором каждая словарная единица представлена в виде отдельной статьи. Викисловарь содержит информацию о словах различных языков, включая русский, а также сведения об их морфологических и синтаксических свойствах. * Признан минюстом РФ иностранным агентом.

This is indeed a very good article. It gives examples of problems from "AI", NFT, and VR, but its message is also applicable to... some other technology ideas.

I ran into "skeeve" in a book and wasn't sure what it means. Merriam-Webster had "skeevy", and mentioned "skeeve" as its source, but didn't have an actual entry for it!
Luckily, #Wiktionary did, and the article looks good to me.
This happens to me increasingly often, even though Merriam-Webster is one of the very few, perhaps even the only commercial English dictionary that is still regularly updated.
I love Merriam-Webster very dearly, but times may be changing.

"It’s indescribable. No matter how long we look at this, our brains are not processing this image in front of us. It is absolutely spectacular, surreal, there’s no adjectives. I’m gonna need to invent some new ones to describe what we’re looking at right now."
The words "indescribable" and "adjective" already have relevant quotations in the English #Wiktionary, so despite the historicity of the moment, I won't overload it with even more.

What Pilot Victor Glover said about it sounded so cool that I added it as an example of using the adjective "wicked" to the English #Wiktionary.

... And that's also why I added the word "self-discrepancy", which I encountered in the same book, to the English #Wiktionary.
This doesn't mean that I actually remember every single thing that I ever wrote on Wikipedia and Wiktionary. I remember quite a lot of them, but certainly not everything. But I'll know where to find it! (Unless someone decides that it's "non-notable" or "unreferenced" or something, but I have solutions for that, too.)

She's a YouTuber, not a scientist, although she did consult with scientists for writing the book.
With that caveat aside, this is a frighteningly good description of how and why I edit @wikipedia, @wikidata, #Wiktionary, and all those other wikis (and why I write blog and Fediverse posts).
So yes, #ADHD may be a good explanation for the motivation to do it, but the result of the work is useful to all people, I would hope?..

This is essential for people in regions with bad internet, like a refugee camp.
I couldn't find any legal advice, which would be pretty important, apart from a general #StackExchange backup.
