The post is full of classic union-busting tactics. A supermajority of US employees has voted (by signing authorization cards), and this is being blocked not by other staff, but purely by WMF management.
"As stated, the decision to unionize belongs to staff. ". Staff has already spoken, and they want, overwhelmingly, to unionize. Dragging out this process further is purely in bad faith, because the Wikimedia Foundation C-suite does not want a union.

#Wikimedia CEO Bernadette Meehan would like to have a civil discussion about how "the Wikimedia Foundation respects the rights of all eligible employees to determine for themselves whether to pursue union representation." Wikimedia volunteers, feel free to leave a comment on her user talk page and let her know how you feel about this, here's what I had to say to her today:

As I noted when I signed the #WikiWorkersUnited petition (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wiki_Workers_United_solidarity), my volunteer editing on #Wikipedia is very important to me, but I'm a strong union supporter and I do not cross picket lines.

Was zum... ? @wikimediafoundation löst das TechTeam auf, das an Community-Software-Wünschen gearbeitet hat. Und deren Mitarbeiter werden entlassen. Einige davon waren gerade dabei, eine Gewerkschaft zu gründen. Was mit den Entlassungen angeblich nichts zu tun hat...
Weder die Auflösung des Teams noch der Anschein von Entlassungen im Zusammenhang mit einer Gewerkschaftsgründung hinterlassen einen guten Eindruck, was den weiteren Weg der #Wikimedia und deren Projekten angeht.
Projekt-Aktive können ihre Unterstützung für die Gewerkschaft unter https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Workers_United#Solidarity kundtun.
