We are pleased to announce that the Wikimedia Foundation leadership signed a stipulated agreement with us that will allow eligible U.S. Wikimedia workers to proudly vote for the formation of our U.S. branch with the Communications Workers of America (CWA).

Ballots will be mailed on August 11th and counted on September 3rd.

The post is full of classic union-busting tactics. A supermajority of US employees has voted (by signing authorization cards), and this is being blocked not by other staff, but purely by WMF management.

"As stated, the decision to unionize belongs to staff. ". Staff has already spoken, and they want, overwhelmingly, to unionize. Dragging out this process further is purely in bad faith, because the Wikimedia Foundation C-suite does not want a union.
