Dass Bibliothekar:innen viele Voraussetzungen dafür mitbringen, gute Wikipedianer:innen zu sein, dürfte einleuchten. Ich bin mir aber nicht sicher, wie stark diese Berufsgruppe wirklich in der Wikipedia vertreten ist. Sind viele undercover aktiv?

Nachdem es bei der #BiblioCon23 eine Arbeitssitzung einiger Wikimedians gab, war gestern in Köln endlich das 1. Treffen der Wikimedians in Bibliotheken des deutschsprachigen Raums – liebevoll organisiert von Eva Seidlmayer und Rabea Müller an der @ZBMED.

Frau @fahrenkrog und @fuzzyleapfrog wussten einiges zu berichten zum Dauerthema, wie man Leute (und besonders Frauen) zur aktiven Mitarbeit in den Wikimedia-Projekten bewegt.

Diego Hättenschwiler von der Parlamentsbibliothek der Schweiz zeigte, wie er #WikimediaCommons nutzt.

Zusammen mit @EvoMRI beschrieb ich den Datenaustausch zwischen Projekten wie #wikidata und #wikibooks mit der akademischen #Suchmaschine @base und ihrer alternativen Oberfläche @OKMaps – ein Beispiel dafür, dass #CitizenScience funktionieren kann.

Wir alle waren uns einig, dass nicht nur einzelne Bibliothekar:innen, sondern auch Bibliotheken und andere Wissensorganisationen sich stärker in Wikimedia-Projekten engagieren sollten. In diesen Zeiten brauchen die #wikipedia und ihre Schwesterprojekte unsere Hilfe, und wir alle brauchen zuverlässige kollaborative Wissensquellen.

Nächstes Jahr gibt es wieder ein Treffen der #wikimediansinbibliotheken!

I'm looking at #Wikibooks, and to me they have a failure of design.

They may have content, but I don't want to read any of the books. There is poor navigation.

They are inconsistent in structure, and their interactivity is poor as well as compared to other open texts like from open university.

I also feel like linking between them messes up the entire idea of the wikibook, but I don't feel right importing chapters from different books into mine.

@pea_adic some ideas 1. improve or create @wikipedia pages, eg one that would be a chronology of math. 2. learn programming and play with #python #processing #thymio #pygames 3. help improve https://gamma.sympy.org & adapt it for the whole math curriculum & to match #photomath on smartphones 3. play with math & prepare them for #MathOlympiads 4. collect in #wikibooks many examples of math in everyday life & objects

I'm pretty experienced on #wikipedia. If anyone can figure out my handle from there, I will seed a new article on any topic of their choosing that meets #wikimedia foundation standards. This applies also to #wikiversity #wikibooks
