  1. Did you ever have to pay to use a lift? Today, we just did that. It was a ridiculous but also funny story.

We were on our way from our apartment in KLCC to the Museum of Islamic Art. As the shortest route we identified that it would be best to go to Pasar Seni station with the metro. There is an overpass over the river Klang which connects the metro with the Kuala Lumpur railway station. Otherwise it would have been a very long way around which would have meant at least one km longer to walk along streets and over bridges.

The overpass is fairly new and it's not even on Google Maps but we spotted it yesterday.

Now, the problem is as follows: You can get to the overpass from the metro station easily. However, on the other side there are two options: to get to the street level, there are further bridges, but they all end in a huge flight of stairs. Or you can enter the railway station and there you can find a lift inside.

The catch is that you can only enter the station with a valid ticket. We argued for some minutes with the lady at the booth and asked her to open the gate manually. Unfortunately we had no success.

So we decided to buy the cheapest ticket we could get. To anywhere. Luckily, we only had to pay 12ct for that and we finally made our way down. And we laughed out.
