La diplomacia como eje de la convivencia social y global

El diálogo estructurado como herramienta para la resolución de conflictos desde las instituciones hasta el entorno cotidiano

La diplomacia formal tiene sus raíces documentadas en los tratados de paz de la antigüedad, como el Tratado de Qadesh firmado en el año 1259 antes de nuestra era entre el faraón egipcio Ramsés II y el rey hitita Hattusili III, el cual estableció el cese de hostilidades y un acuerdo de extradición mutua. Este pacto histórico demuestra que la negociación basada en la palabra y el respeto a los acuerdos bilaterales ha sido el método más efectivo para evitar la destrucción mutua entre sociedades soberanas. En el siglo XVII, la firma de la Paz de Westfalia en 1648 consolidó el concepto moderno de soberanía estatal e introdujo de manera permanente la práctica de enviar embajadores residentes, transformando la negociación en una profesión continua destinada a mantener el equilibrio de las fuerzas políticas en el continente europeo.

Este mismo principio de contención, escucha activa y búsqueda de consensos se traslada de forma directa al tejido de las relaciones cotidianas dentro de una comunidad o un entorno familiar. La convivencia humana diaria presenta de forma inevitable divergencias de opinión, intereses contrapuestos y tensiones que, de no ser gestionadas mediante una comunicación asertiva, derivan en confrontaciones estériles y hostilidad verbal. El uso de la palabra como puente para entender la postura del otro, dejando de lado la imposición unilateral, actúa como un regulador social que permite resolver fricciones vecinales, laborales o personales sin la necesidad de recurrir a medidas coercitivas o la ruptura definitiva de los vínculos humanos.

A nivel internacional, los organismos multilaterales operan bajo normativas estrictas como la Convención de Viena sobre Relaciones Diplomáticas de 1961, un tratado que regula las inmunidades y los privilegios del personal enviado para asegurar que los canales de comunicación permanezcan abiertos incluso en tiempos de crisis extrema. La existencia de estos canales formales permite que las naciones encuentren salidas jurídicas y comerciales a sus disputas antes de que estas escalen a conflictos armados. Del mismo modo, el ciudadano común aplica la diplomacia práctica cuando sustituye el insulto o la descalificación por la exposición clara de argumentos, entendiendo que el respeto hacia el interlocutor es el único camino viable para construir acuerdos sostenibles en el tiempo.
