I began by answering the question: "Why doesn't the GOP leadership denounce Trump's lawbreaking and association with Nazis?"

Answer: They're mostly in agreement with Trump’s goals and they don’t care if he breaks laws.

They don’t think democracy is working, so they reject the laws and norms that underlie our democracy.
