During Croatia v Brazil Fox showed a graphic of "Most Powerful Goals" in the #WorldCup, in km/h. Once I translated the numbers into a measurement I can relate to, mph... wow! Over 70 mph! Those balls travel faster than teenagers driving through my neighborhood. I can't imagine being on the field in the path of one of those. Very impressive.

In #Italy a group of #fascists has been attacking Moroccan supporters partying for the win Vs. Spain at #WC22.
Most of them are supporters of #HellasVerona, well known for their racist attitude. -

The YouTube recaps of World Cup matches by FOX Sports have been disappointing. The people making them must not be fans of the sport. The ones I've seen only show the goals and near-goals, and none of the build up or other good passages of play. And they cut off the commentators when they're in the middle of a sentence.

@nickanstead I hope Kane wears the #OneLove armband, I hope all the captains wear it. Wouldn't it be great if the referees choose not to issue the yellow. Of course that would put the refs into jeopardy, but it would be a visible statement.
Related side note: the players, coaches, media outlets, advertisers, etc all have FAR greater influence with their protests than individuals refusing to watch the matches on TV.

I will be watching the World Cup, hopefully a lot of the matches, starting with today's opener.
(Also taking this opportunity to try CW for the first time.)

I feel awful for Mane that he'll miss the #WorldCup. I can't imagine the disappointment injured players feel to miss an event that they probably have dreamed about since they were young.
