It's almost the beginning of the #AFL season so I had to check that my Rube Goldberg machine of video processing was still working. I downloaded the State of Origin game and it mostly worked. I kept screwing up the file where I map GUIDs to human readable names but the flow worked.

That flow is :
WatchAFL download on Android -> FileSync -> Syncthing -> desktop machine -> my script on a cron job -> Handbrake -> file transfer to NAS to get picked up by Plex

Now I am once again easily converting #WatchAFL downloads into files on my Plex. AFL is not a game that rewards watching on a phone. Sometimes my 55" TV seems small for the action so a 6" screen is ridiculous.

The process of getting #AFL games on my living room TV would make Rube Goldberg spin in his grave.

- Download the game via WatchAFL on my tablet
- Move the files via Dropsync
- Use Handbrake to turn 1000+ .ts files into one .mkv
- Move it to Plex
- Enjoy some footy

You can't really appreciate say Harry McKay watching on your phone. #watchAFL would it kill you to have a Roku app?
