Took the ring road for the first time since roadworks started a little while back yesterday - works that have caused the (temporary) loss of a shared-use cycle path with no signed diversion. This is a key link between the two sides of town, busy at peak time. #WarwickshireCC

Excellent news. This is the outcome I was hoping for over a single unitary. #WarwickshireCC can feel rather distant from the north of the county; hopefully the north/south unitary split will help redress the balance.

We've been here before so excuse me if I'm sceptical. To have _any_ hope of achieving this target, infrastructure is critical - not just "around schools" but full, safe routes/network. Government MUST address problem councils like #Warwickshire that don't deliver on promises, even when ring-fenced funding is awarded.
