One question I had:
How long has Willowby Hall been abandoned? I don't think the text specifies. Or, given that magic is possibly preserving the mansion, maybe the question is: What is its general condition?
Clearly we're not at the "collapses into dust at a touch" stage of your classic ancient tomb. But nor is everything pristine.
I'd want to get that clear in my head so I can describe things in a way that doesn't mislead attentive players.

Here's some things I would want to think about/prep more before running:
* How I would embody / get into the head of the key NPCs. The bits we have already are evocative but brief, and this isn't one of my strong points
* Also default plans for the 3 adventurers and Elias (if returned to present).
* Quick map for the museum (and more example exhibits). There's a lot of fun stuff to do with tactical positioning between aisles of glass cabinets. -
Its reputation as an excellent adventure stuffed with interactivity is well-deserved. A couple of things I liked that I haven't seen highlighted:
* Details that are hard to improvise are included: books in the library, paintings in the gallery.
* Double references: e.g. chimney you can climb references roof; roof entry referencs kitchen.
* The vases from Yoon-Suin! Such a small touch but I love the feeling of OSR community it gives. -
Finished my read through of "The Waking of Willowby Hall" 💪

What a lovely thing it is to have adventures arrive through my door.
