In this episode, I discussed why the launch of ULA's Vulcan Centaur rocket on January 8 was so important from a resiliency point of view as we look to do so much more in space.
They have a long way to go to even begin to catch up with the truly amazing launch work that #SpaceX is doing... but at least it is a start.

So, you know how #ULA didn't show any telemetry during this morning’s #Cert1 launch of #VulcanRocket?
What they did show was a telemetry driven 3D animation - this allowed me to reconstruct parts of the trajectory using photogrammetry. -
While the first #VulcanRocket launch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d53k2nZ3DGY - was so flawless that even the #ULA CEO was astonished the #Peregrine mission has run into severe-sounding trouble soon afterwards: Astrobotic updates at https://twitter.com/astrobotic/status/1744367789953933641 and https://twitter.com/astrobotic/status/1744389634568724791. At least the spacecraft is still broadcasting as the direct signal reception at the Bochum, Germany, dish - live at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pPBCIpVGsM - seems to reveal a pretty strong downlink.

Now the question will be: how competitive can ULA actually be? Articles state that ULA has * 6 * launches planned in 2024.
Meanwhile SpaceX will launch over 100.. possibly 144.

The first flight of ULA’s Vulcan Centaur lifted off early this morning, launching the first US private moon lander and a whole bunch of scientific experiments… and memorials. More info:
