CW: Good news. Some things we can fix.
[Oddly thinkerating this morning, I am not sure why. Blue cheese for dinner? IDK.]
Preamble:
In 1978, my grandfather, always going at some windmill, formed a lobby group called 'Save A Life A Day 79'. (SALAD79) winceable - he was terrible at acronyms. It aimed to reduce road deaths by introducing RBT.Result:
Here is the graph of road deaths per km travelled in Australia it was flat for the years leading up to 1979. It declined after 1979.Good news:
Road travel is safer for us than it was for our grandparents. Much safer. Even though we travel further, faster and more than they did.Thoughts:
1. Did making a fuss about alcohol and driving help? Yes. Is it the full story? No.
2. It HELPED, for sure, sometimes fussing really does.
3. Certainly doing nothing does not.So:
Go out and make a fuss.
(Of course, this is a lead-handed metaphor about climate, what other graph does anyone care about? Also #voteGreens) -

Chalmers blaming "the US war with Iran" ...
His government was one of the first to *endorse* the #USA attack on #Iran. In that endorsement, the #ALP was factoring-in the economic pain of war - a serious fucking business - surely.
Take responsibility, #ALP. You cheered these fuckwits on. You have not stopped cheering. We still send weapons components to both #Israel and the #USA. We still encourage them.
