  1. As Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz passed one of the strongest 100% clean energy laws in the country and has made Minnesota a national climate leader.

  6. This is an amazing development that could help improve the quality of life of so many people. It’s truly great news.

The real question unfortunately is: what does a Trump-appointed Federalist Society judge in the sixth-largest city in Texas think about the science behind this drug?

Thanks to SCOTUS, we may get to find out. #VoteForDemocrats

  7. Why am I not surprised?

The right wingers on #SCOTUS delay ruling on Trump’s immunity until the last possible day and then punt it back to the lower courts.

They are serving Trump’s best interests which is not surprising since they are beholden to him.

We’ve all been talking about Project 2025. Well, overturning Chevron and Roe and shielding Trump from prosecution is quite the start.

There’s one chance left to turn this around and that’s in November. #VoteForDemocrats #BidenHarris2024

  8. The Alabama attorney general thinks that not only should his state be able to outlaw abortion completely, but that he should be able to restrict women from traveling elsewhere for their abortion care too. A federal judge said no, people have the right to cross state lines, and refused to dismiss the Yellowhammer Fund's lawsuit.

Some state officials will do anything to control people. Democrats nominate and confirm judges who won't let them.

  11. I'd like to point out that not a single person turning 18 today and casting their first vote on their Election Day birthday was born in a country where Republicans ever won the popular vote.

Republicans last won the popular vote for the presidency on November 3, 2004.

Democrats won the popular vote for the presidency in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020. Donald Trump was a minority president.

In Congressional races, Democrats won the popular vote in 2012 but Republicans won the US House. Typically the party that wins the popular vote also wins control of the House, but it's not always the case. The way to make sure we win is to show up in overwhelming numbers.

The Senate popular vote is the one that's way out of proportion. It's harder to measure popular vote because not every seat is up every year. The way to make sure we win is for Democratic voters in swing states to show up in overwhelming numbers.

  12. It's easy to forget how good Jennifer Rubin is, since every day she gives a master class in distilling current American politics. Monday was debate night in America, with candidates in Ohio, Utah, Wisconsin, Florida, and Georgia facing off. Unless you flipped back and forth like you were watching multiple sporting events, it would have been impossible to watch all of them, but you may have caught highlights on MSNBC. (Fortunately, at most you live in one of these states, or maybe none. No matter where you live, #VoteForDemocrats!) Rubin points out that Republicans have no policy ideas. Close the border is not a police. Nor is Stop Woke Democrats. Republicans don't want to tell us their policies because when they do, we are appalled. Fortunately, many of them are telegraphing them anyway. Believe them, and read Rubin's column to read about many of the highlights like Tim Ryan telling JD Vance to move back to California if he wants to run against Pelosi.

"In practice, Republicans assume — correctly — that the American legislative process wouldn’t help them achieve their goals, because their priorities are regressive and deeply unpopular. So they’re settling on a new plan: circumvent their country’s existing system and get what they want by creating a hostage crisis."

Republicans have been salivating at the idea of eradicating Social Security and Medicare for decades. They'll happily hold the economy hostage to achieve their goals. And once they do, they'll turn around and blame President Biden for the havoc they've wreaked.

The state that tipped the country over the top and gave us a Democratic president deserves to be represented by two good Democratic senators.

Good job, Republicans. You managed to pick yourselves a candidate who's a downgrade from Pat Toomey. No one should vote for him in November.

  15. Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate, Kari Lake, is an election denier, which is reason enough not to elect her. She also can't read a bill, the most basic requirement for a governor, since she should presumably understand what she is signing into law or vetoing.

  17. Every day, Americans across the political spectrum are recognizing that our country is at risk of sliding toward a modern form of authoritarianism. We are already seeing signs of that happening.

But we have stronger tools than those found anywhere else in the world to prevent this. We the People, armed with our Constitution and the rule of law, can act to stop it.

Formed by lawyers who served at the highest levels of the federal government, the Protect Democracy Project works to inform Americans of specific threats to their right to free, fair, and fully-informed self-government.

  18. Whele knifes Gorsuch and Alito in the gut, something I always enjoy, but not actually helpful when they are destroying our country. The decision in West Virginia vs. EPA is a SCOTUS power grab. Like Marbury v. Madison in 1803, in which SCOTUS gave itself the power to overturn acts of Congress, in West Virginia, it gives itself the power to decide which federal agencies to regulate because executive agencies are unelected and it Gorsuch et al. claim that Congress should do the regulating, not unelected bureaucrats – what irony, considering that not only are the justices unelected, but that they were put on the court by two presidents who lost the popular vote. (Whele only points out TFG, but GWB, who nominated Alito, was the same; Roberts was also nominated by GWB but it's Gorsuch's concurrence for which Whele has scorn, not Roberts' majority opinion.)

Justice Kagan politely protests what her colleagues did in her dissent. Elections matter. #VoteForDemocrats

According to many national polls, the majority of Americans, are sympathetic to women seeking abortions if ... they are victims of rape or incest, if... they have a serious health concern, or if... the baby will be born with a disability. Although from the same polls. I've seen they are significantly less willing to approve of abortion in cases of economic hardship or personal preference.

It's my opinion, when stories of women seeking unsafe and illegal abortions hit the front pages, when victims of rape or incest find themselves forced to bear children, when underfunded social services struggle to provide adequate care for newly born but uncared-for infants, all of that must and will change if we use our voice and ...

Nope. Not a single one. Earlier I was looking up the Republican candidates for the NY24 primary -each one more pro-TFG, pro-gun, anti-choice, anti-humanity than the last.

I've got my pick for the Dem primary& look forward to helping campaign for them this fall.

  21. 'No way to prevent this.' Says only nation where this regularly happens.

This has been the headline of The Onion after a mass shooting 21 times since 2014.

We know how to prevent it. We need to vote the GQP/NRA gun cultists out of office in order to pass the kinds of laws that will save lives.

Good morning! To everyone who voted in primary elections yesterday, thank you!
    If your candidate won -congrats!
    If not, I'm sorry.

With that being said, now the real work begins in your states. It's time to set aside our differences of opinion& work together to get the Democrat nominations into office.

Do you think many Republicans will give up and stay home just because Cawthorn or Oz didn't get their nomination? No such luck, gang.

I was not a fan of President Biden originally. He wasn't even in my top 5. But when he got the nomination, I put :100: behind him, and damn he's done a lot of good!

We're all in this together. We have to remember that and act accordingly.

    Stefanik voted against:
    -Domestic Violence Protection
    -Child Tax Credits
    -Affordable Insulin
    -Freedom to Vote
    -Infrastructure
    -Women's Health Protection
    -Protecting Older Workers From Discrimination
    -January 6th Investigation
    -DC Statehood
    -Paycheck Fairness
    -American Dream& Promise Act
    -Enhanced Background Checks
    -The Heroes Act
    -Strength in Diversity Act

    What did she vote for?
-Carrying Concealed Weapons Across State Lines
-Introduced the Second Amendment Guarantee Act to override the NYS SAFE Act
-Voted to remove silencers from firearm regulation(SHUSH Act)

She's not working to help Americans or keep them safe. She IS very worried about representing guns, though -it's a shame for her that guns don't vote. The only replacement she should be worrying about is the constituents of NY21 replacing her at the ballot box.

  24. @batbird We need every Democratic state to provide these protections. Connecticut, California, Maryland, and New Jersey have either enacted or are in the process of passing new protections. I'm glad to hear about Washington too.

Many states have gubernatorial races this year. If the state has a Republican state house, it may be too gerrymandered to turn it Democratic (but try! #VoteForDemocrats) this time, but electing a Democratic governor will keep new restrictions from passing as long as it's not a Republican supermajority. And if it is a Republican supermajority, please flip a few seats to Democrats.
