  1. What better way to enjoy the summer than in a teal Suzuki Vitara?

I've got an original ink illustration of that over in my shop. I can post worldwide too.

  4. #CarAudio #Suzuki #Vitara #Music #TaskParalysis

I play music in my car via a USB stick (no carplay, and buggy bluetooth). For the longest time (years!) I've had problems with certain song files and I just couldn't figure out what was wrong.

I finally forced myself to pull my finger out of my arse and diagnose it properly. I found a Suzuki spec sheet for file types and started a process of re-encoding and re-tagging with the help of MediaHuman Audio Converter and Kid3 on my Mac.

After several rounds of testing I eventually established:

    1. Bitrate is crucial
    2. Encoder is also crucial
    3. Tag length is also crucial
    4. Filename length is also crucial
    5. Punctuation in filenames is also crucial
    6. Filesystem path length is also crucial
    7. Having a stick that doesn't overheat is also crucial

So now on my computer, aside from my main music library which is part FLAC and part MP3 320, I now have a "car stick" folder which has everything as AAC (M4A) files, bitrate 196, no MP3 tags at all, and a simple folder structure with filenames that include artist, album and track but have no non-ASCII characters in them.

Finally I can play all the albums that were mysteriously refusing to play in the car. #Slint, #SecretMachines, #Mogwai, #Mono, to name but a few.

  10. Known by different names in different markets, here in the UK it’s the Suzuki Vitara. A car that was the height of fashion in the early nineties and a surprisingly capable little offroader if needed, although you likely wouldn’t go green laning if you had the Fatboy kit like this one.

  12. Anyone know #Austin #Healey #bugeye / #frogeye #Sprites or #MG #Midget cars?

    Got this old #Suzuki drivetrain that I've always thought could be a good start for a #restomod project (1.6 liter, 4v sohc + J1 #Vitara / #Tracker / #Sidekick / #Escudo 2wd 5sp). IIRC ~100hp/tq

Which years / era of these cars were the most suspension performant and had the best creature comforts? I like both style front ends; late Sprite/Midget might be more #motorsport looking?

  14. @nrcha @Paija2021 Par Andre Motors +1. Mums abi Suzuki (#Jimny un #Vitara) tur ņemti.

@nrcha, man interesē kāds bonuss S-Cross > Vitara? Manuprāt, Vitara ir foršāka — gan lētāka, gan iespēja paņemt vieglo hibrīdu ar labu uzrāvienu (ja MT), gan mazliet augstāka. Vienīgais S-Cross bonuss ir mazliet lielāka ietilpība?

  15. so lets start with the wheels - at least until the end of the month. I have had this Suzuki Grand Vitara since 2019, and he is really great fun to drive. I guess you could say ULEZ stops play, for I am not able to pay £12.50 a day, and even if I could I would not. But at least he will be immortalised forever on here, as will be the adventures we still have left to come in the short time we have together.

  19. Now as a follow up to the above toot I also have this, which is a trade card sticker, issued by Panini, card 27 in the "Autos" series, issued in 1993. Note the very spiffy white soft top.

  23. @77slevin December 2023? That’s crazy! 🤯 When we ordered a #Vitara (in Latvia) earlier this year, it arrived within 2 weeks. Only a minor comment - we ordered one with a MT (I understood AT is indeed more tricky to get).
But then again - a #Suzuki with MT is fun 🥳😊

In any case - congratulations! And hope you get your new car very soon 🙌🏻
