Solche Gedanken zeigen eines ganz klar auf: #VirusAuto im Kopf. Auf die Idee, dass sich die Schnelleren auf die Tempi der Langsameren anzupassen haben, kommt niemand.
Ja, auch kaum Radfahrende, die viel zu schnell durch verkehrsberuhigte Zonen oder auf freigegebenen Gehwegen fahren und haarscharf an Fußgänger:innen vorbeipreschen.Höher, weiter, schneller. Nur die Schnellen und Starken überleben, so das darwinsche Gesetz.

Zwei Pressemitteilungen der Polizei (unterschiedliche KPB in NRW).
Bei der einen wird Automarke, Modell und sogar Farbe erwähnt, wobei zumindest letztere vollkommen uninteressant ist.
Bei der anderen PM wird über den Diebstahl eines Fahrrades berichtet. Keine Angaben zum Fahrzeug. Nicht Marke, nicht der Typ und nicht einmal die Farbe.Das #VirusAuto sitzt tiefer, als man es sich vorstellen vermag.

I was just reading Sagan's Pale Blue Dot and in Chapter 5 he creates this hypothetical scenario where an alien spaceship discovers our planet and starts observing to understand if there's any life or intelligence. I thought you lot would appreciate his brilliant criticism of our car-centric infrastructure:
"When you examine the Earth at about 100-meter resolution, everything changes. The planet is revealed to be covered with straight lines, squares, rectangles, circles sometimes huddling along river banks or nestling on the lower slopes of mountains, sometimes stretching over plains, but rarely in deserts or high mountains, and absolutely never in the oceans. You might believe that you were really beginning to understand life on Earth. And perhaps you'd be right.

Ja, genau so ist es.Parkende Autos am Fahrbahnrand z.B. sind nicht das Problem, sondern Radfahrer:innen, die mit 26 durch eine 30-Zone fahren und mich als Autler behindern.

Es käme ja auch Nur-Autofahrern zugute. Je attraktiver die Alternativen, desto häufiger werden diese genutzt, desto weniger Staus, desto höher die Chance auf einen begehrten Parkplatz.
Aber soweit denken die vom #VirusAuto befallende gar nicht.

Die Veranstaltungsreihe Forum Mobilität Dresden startet ins mittlerweile dritte Jahr - der erste Termin wurde für den 12.03.2024 19 Uhr angekündigt.
Das Format diesmal ist eine Lesung mit Gespräch, das Buch "Virus Auto" (in der aktualisierten Ausgabe) und der Vorlesende damit Prof. em. Hermann Knoflacher (willkommen zurück zum #FMD).Es wird vermutlich wie immer auch wieder einen Stream geben.

ja, dankenswerterweise ist zu erwarten, dass das diesmal besser wird als die letzte Veranstaltung in 2023, nach der ich mir ~10.000 Zeichen erbosten, aber nicht grad konstruktiven Mastodon-Thread verkniffen hab) -

Wäre ich in der #Autofahrerbubble und in der gleichen Situation, wäre ich wahrscheinlich auch entsetzt.
Da ich aber nicht vom #VirusAuto befallen bin, finde ich höhere Parkgebühren gut, um Denkprozesse hinsichtlich der #Verkehrswende einzuleiten. Nur müssten die Gründe für die vermeindliche Abzocke auch gut von den jeweiligen Stadtverwaltungen kommuniziert werden.

Wie ich auf diesen krassen Take komme? Reflektiert mal die Musk-Verehrung, den Fanatismus des typischen #Tesla-Fans vor dem Hintergrund von #Knoflacher s Thesen aus #VirusAuto. Das ist krass.
Wie seht ihr das? Ist da was dran, oder geht mal wieder meine Fantasie mit mir durch?
