Just read that #Sony will stop pressing physical #PlayStation #discs for new games from January 2028. Everything becomes #digital only.
I can not #support this. Without a #disc the customer is only a #licence holder, not a real owner. A digital game can be altered, #locked or completely #deleted with one click, so old #versions simply disappear from your library.
Because Sony controls the disc #licensing, big #publishers like #EA, #Ubisoft and #Capcom must follow. This is bad for #preservation and turns a #cultural medium into pure #licensed #data.
With only one #store and no #second-hand #market, the #prices stay high.
For me this is #unacceptable. It is another reason why I prefer #DRMfree platforms like #GOG, where the game stays mine and stays playable forever.

Based on the description of @connor_mc_d latest blog post (https://lnkd.in/gvqh6kAp) I've discovered that the page from the version 11.2 to 23ai of @oracledatabase official #docs (https://lnkd.in/gdVC-A5K) all along have the "Expand All/Collapse All" button but added the incredible button with Table of Contents (ToC) from 12.2 to 23ai.
It depends on the stuff you hunt on the Search Box after pressing the hot key "Ctrl-F" you can try it by immediately hitting the button "Expand All" or "ToC".
In particular ToC seems like the navigating pane in the tab "view" of the @microsoft Office Word software and is the toal index page of current doc. It's the tiny and further improvement and enhancement of @oracledatabase official #docs although it's always hard to statisfy everybody.
The following video (last for 8.5 minutes) demonstrates how to find out "DECODE" stuff from 11.2 to 23ai. 😜

2/ I only post this because the misuse of "PDF" is a pet peeve.
Sorry to spell out the obvious. PDF is a file format, not a paywall. It has nothing to do with paywalls. PDFs can be #OpenAccess.A related mistake is to use "the PDF" as a synonym for the version of record, as opposed to some other version, like a preprint or accepted author manuscript. Sorry. Any version can be a PDF, and the version of record can be any file format.

Uh... that's definitely not a Python limitation. On one machine, you can have as many different #versions of Python installed as you like - even multiple copies of the *same* version compiled with different options.
On one machine I have handy, I currently have the following installed and usable:
2.7
3.6
3.7
3.8
3.9
3.10
3.11
3.12I haven't gotten around to trying pre-release 3.13 yet.
Where'd you get the idea this is impossible?

Agree with Gabriel. If you're writing a quick script or something and don't really care what Python version you're using because you're not doing anything requiring new features, using the system Python is fine.
Otherwise, install the Python you actually want, separately. That way it has its own paths to install the stdlib (and 3rd-party packages, but you shouldn't install those globally...) and can't mess up OS-shipped Python scripts.
