Soon, very soon, I'll introduce my Russian lady to some other of my other cohabitants.
Can't wait to load the Ural with photographic gear like tripod, (LF) cameras, black cloth etc and go to places in the vicinity for a few shots.
There is a lot of space on board. As that is what she was built for 85 years ago. Carry men and gear (to the front) through every terrain you can think of, in any weather, in any cirumstances.
Now that my lab/darkroom is in (almost) perfect order again, this should be great fun.
And of course my love from Irbit will also get pictured in one or two photographs. 😁

Water belongs in Whiskey, not in the motor or the carburators of a motorcycle - let alone an oldtimer Russian boxer (BMW at heart).
So I tinkered some extra #protection this morning. The caps come from an injection set and are meant to be discarded. No no... :-)

The trip as such not so much.
Especially not on a german Autobahn when you are rolling at 85 km/h in the slipstream of a large truck and some guys passing at 3x that speed in their Maserati or Porsche or Audi or BMW.
In a former life on a different bike I would have chased 'em. 🤪

First longer ride yesterday to THE Ural-expert on a farm somewhere in the middle of nowhere. The pope of Uralogy as it were. ;-)
All went well. Bike does what it should. Most of the time. Me too. Surprisingly.
But quite strenuous. In the evening i was floored. No comparison to any other motorcycle I had in my life - let alone to my latest R1100RS. Driving a 31 year old russian boxer motorbike with sidecar is a whole different thing. But I love it. 🥲
Got home after a long day with lots of new knowledge, stories, friendly new buddies and a new and working fuel tap.
Exhausted but happy. 🙂
