Had a nice #ukbinchat irl with two ladies from Wirral Borough Council who checked I was up to speed with the new food waste collection. They also laughed politely at my rather weak joke so double thumbs up from me. 👍👍

@emsquared This week (on Friday) is ALL_THE_BINS week for us. My next door neighbours moved out last weekend and their bins have been out since then. My other neighbours (the ones I actually talk to) have gone on holiday this morning, put their bins out and asked if I could bring those in too.

I suppose it will give me something to do if the first two episodes of #TOTP on BBC4 are terrible 😃

Dear local council,

You can't just randomly change the bin collection day because of some festival or other, every time there is one.

What are you playing at? Nobody knows what day it is already, so we could do without you lot sticking your oar in and messing with us even more.

You do not know the extent of the powerful temporal forces you are messing with.

Leave it alone, otherwise a lot of people could get hurt.

Or at least confused.

All of ours go on the same day of the week. Used to be a Friday but they recently switch to a Tuesday - meaning I do the bins after Scouts now.

Two bit wheelie bins, one for general waste and one for _all_ recycling, plus a food caddy.
Garden waste reusable bags are available for a small fee.

General waste is every two weeks.
Everything else is weekly.
Although I think garden waste goes down to every two weeks in the winter 🤔.

@hischeekiness @forquare @keefeglise thanks for the timely reminder, I had completely forgotten to put the bins out today. 3 weekly cycle here in Aberdeenshire: general waste and food caddy this week, paper and cardboard and food caddy next week, and mixed plastic / metal with food caddy the third week. #ukbinchat
