  1. OH RIGHT

Someone marked out some bike lane revisions on the diagonal chunk of NE 54th that becomes NE 55th between Ravenna Avenue and some point east at least past Ravenna Place, and it also looked like they marked some sort of bike stub lane or turn lane on Ravenna Place itself.

There are already bike lanes there so I don't know what's up except maybe upgraded markings? Or maybe they're going to buffer them some? I haven't seen anything about it until I literally biked by it today so

  2. @elba @irene holy crow! most people never notice them. xD

but yeah, it was a big fad amongst neighbourhoods because the city said "if you want to do this we'll do the printing and hanging but you have to do everything else" and the university park community club said "nobody even knows we're here so we're totally doing this" and we did. it was fun :D

i drove that, and i was also real big on the ravenna creek daylighting. we wanted more than we got but university village was on the other side and we lost that part of the fight. but we did get a meaningful extension!

the upcc are still around, too - here's their website: upcc.org/

  3. ooooooooo

I don't think that's enough colour separation but I appreciate that there _is_ colour separation

maybe they should use a square or something as a redundant indicator? (GEOMETRY!)

  4. Overnight the far right church leaders who led the fascist riot in Seattle yesterday vowed a night march starting from their church in U District tonight.

These guys typically march the one block around their church then call it quits. The issue tho is AFTER these events riled up fascists sometimes look for gay people to harass.

Most of their last minute events are a snoozefest, so likely to fizzle tonight imo.

  6. Seattle protested at all of the Tesla locations in town today. Just saw this picture of Congress woman Pramila Jayapal making an appearance at the U Village Tesla protests.

  7. that feel when you walk into the new architectural salvage store in your town and you recognise shit (and talking to the employees find you are right)

  8. The U District Street Fair is a periodic reminder of how nicely a pedestrianized, car-free space would work along University Way NE (aka The Ave) in Seattle.

  9. Happy National Bubble Tea Day to all those who celebrate and/or those on the Route 44 bus passing by Seattle Boba Fest outside the U District Link station on NE 43rd St.

  10. Good evening, Seattle. All is (mostly) quiet on the University Bridge, aside from the echoing noise from motorcyclists zooming across the lower deck of the I-5 Ship Canal Bridge over yonder.

  11. CW: Seattle snow updates

It is certainly snowing in the U District this morning!

  12. Good morning, #Seattle. While I regularly see dozens of paper cranes on the Sadaki Sasaki statue in Peace Park in the #UDistrict, the single red paper crane caught my eye.

  13. #Seattle weather updates: It is still raining in the #UDistrict. (Take care at the cursed intersection of 7th Ave NE & NE 40th St!)

  14. CW: Seattle-area transit musing ...

It's great to see our #KingCountyMetro buses packed with riders, but I do wish we had more 60-foot #trolleybuses running on Route 44 between #Ballard and #UDistrict instead of the 40-foot trolleybuses. #Seattle #transit
