I have never had a gaming experience quite like this one. The last time I had to literally take notes was over a decade ago, and the fact that I had to take screenshots and work out the puzzle solutions was incredible to do in real time on stream!
We did ultimately beat the game, and uncovered almost every secret, save for the FINAL PUZZLE which is honestly just fine. I'm perfectly happy with what we were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time with this game, and it has genuinely skyrocketed itself into the short list of my favorite games of all time.
I am so happy I had the opportunity to experience this game on my own, and I highly encourage anyone who loves this sort of Zelda-like puzzle solving with meta level progression to give TUNIC a try for yourself! It's one of the few games I wish I could completely forget so that I could experience it fresh all over again!

Oh man, do we have a special VOD today. We were trying to figure out what to play next, and after plenty of discussion, @nincodedo asked "have you ever played TUNIC?" You know, I haven't, so let's fix that shall we?
This game, goddamn, this game absolutely won me over from the moment my little fox rolled across the bridge. The music is perfect, the art style is clean and pleasing. The gameplay is just the right amount of difficulty without being frustratingly so. The amount of secrets and Easter eggs hidden away to discover was near constant, to the point of a running gag of finding one and asking if it had been there "the whole time?!"
Obviously, spoilers ahead for this amazing little gem, if you have any interest in a cute little Zelda-like with Soulslike combat filled to bursting with puzzles and secrets to find, I HIGHLY advise playing the game yourself. The biggest part of the experience for me was going in without any prior exposure, and it made the game all the more enjoyable for me.

Tunic is an amazing game.
I started playing it over the weekend and it's one of the best games I've played. The combat is engaging and the art/music is great. I love the design decision to include the instruction manual pages as items to find in the game, complete with little pencil marks on some of the pages making it look like someone's personal notes. It really hits the nostalgia of when games came with physical books.

Just finished #Tunic today and I'm really torn about it. There's a lot to love here and some genuinely incredible puzzle design. As soon as I saw the first page of the instruction booklet, I could see there was something special here and it definitely delivered on that premise.
Minimizing spoilers as much as I can, the door to the mountains puzzle is actually genius and something that's easy to miss but quite obvious in retrospect, like all good puzzles are.

I've been playing #Tunic and really enjoying it overall, but in the late game, these Holy Cross puzzles are really getting on my nerves.
I'm like 5 puzzles in a row now where I solved it conceptually but just didn't read the path the same way the game intended and end up looking up each one.

Last night my wife was trying out Tunic on Switch 2, which unfortunately has untranslsted game menus, dialog boxes and such. Luckily, there's a fully translated version of the manual online. But before we looked that up, she tried translating some via her phone, and the results were hilarious. I was LOSING IT about this last night. 😂🤣😂
(And now I'm finding out that the manual and dialog boxes are PURPOSEFULLY a made up language that translates as you play. But, like.. any kind of vague hint about this from the devs would've been nice, though..)

A lot of reviews talk about the difficulty of #Silksong. It is a difficult game, but I don't think it's an over the top difficulty. I don't think it's more difficult than #Tunic. It is difficult if you're trying to speed run it, but if you take the time to explore, pace yourself, and go in expecting that it's probably going to take 3-5 times before you recognize the (generally well telegraphed) patterns of new bosses, then most casual gamers should get through it.

There's this trajectory from "wow, I died fast" to "wow, that was a lucky run - I don't know if I can do that again" to "OK, I see the patterns now" to "dang, I had it but got greedy" to "I can totally do this" to "wow, that was a good fight".
