TIL that Tunic, one of the more recent games that I enjoyed, is just 1.3 GB on Steam. It’s amazing to have an enjoyable game that doesn’t eat up too much storage.

Last night my wife was trying out Tunic on Switch 2, which unfortunately has untranslsted game menus, dialog boxes and such. Luckily, there's a fully translated version of the manual online. But before we looked that up, she tried translating some via her phone, and the results were hilarious. I was LOSING IT about this last night. 😂🤣😂
(And now I'm finding out that the manual and dialog boxes are PURPOSEFULLY a made up language that translates as you play. But, like.. any kind of vague hint about this from the devs would've been nice, though..)

J'ai commencé à décoder l'alphabet. Ce coup-ci on va vraiment avancer.Diffusion en direct sur Tunic 🦊 Session 13 (je crois ?).
Où l'on va faire du décodage, de la traduction et résoudre des énigmes. -
J'ai enfin commencé à traduire l'alphabet dans Tunic.
Comme toutes les énigmes de ce jeu, je m'étais dis que je ne le ferai pas et en fait si.
C'est vraiment fort de sa part. -

A lot of reviews talk about the difficulty of #Silksong. It is a difficult game, but I don't think it's an over the top difficulty. I don't think it's more difficult than #Tunic. It is difficult if you're trying to speed run it, but if you take the time to explore, pace yourself, and go in expecting that it's probably going to take 3-5 times before you recognize the (generally well telegraphed) patterns of new bosses, then most casual gamers should get through it.

There's this trajectory from "wow, I died fast" to "wow, that was a lucky run - I don't know if I can do that again" to "OK, I see the patterns now" to "dang, I had it but got greedy" to "I can totally do this" to "wow, that was a good fight". #Toem, #Tunic, #Storyteller...Over the last 3-4 years, when I've been at my most stressed there's been a super cute little indie game that's released and has been the perfect tonic to save me from being consumed by stress and anxiety.
It would appear that the 2024 iteration of that theme is the lovely #ThePluckySquire, which after my first 40 or so minutes seems to be, well exactly what the doctor ordered.

OK, hear me out. #Tunic 2 could be a #nintendoPower game. The game manual isn't enough any more. You need to purchase addition clues from magazines in various shops so that you know to kneel with the crystal by a wall somewhere, etc., and some of those magazine clues are just bogus nonsense like various EGM pranks, but there's some subtle way to telling the real from fake advice.

Bounced off of #ChantsOfSenaar. It's got that Obra Dinn that I enjoy but the games atmosphere and art style just never grabbed me, and apparently that was a big reason why I love #ObraDinn, #Tunic and #StrangeHorticulture.
Oh well. I can see why others absolutely love it though, so if you're in the market for one of those, don't let me feelings put you off.
