  1. So I've been using #LogSeq fue a while now you write down my things. I can track stuff that i need to track, tasks, take notes and maybe write up longer texts. Open Source, based on markdown files that i version controlled and synced using git. But they transitioned to a DB format. Like #Joplin. Like #Trilium. And that's a pain because for some performance gains, i lose the ability to sync files, edit and futureproof my thoughts. Which means i might have to go back to #Obsidian because they still keep markdown files as the source of truth. And I'm mad because it's not open source.

So dear mastodoners, do you have suggestions of #PKM personal knowledge management systems that
    - are foss
    - have an android app
    - use markdown files as a base

    Please Boost.

Also, dear @joplinapp why the db ? Joplin is really close to what I want. But i just can't depend on a specific app to access my content.

EDIT: I will make a thread with this hashtag if you're interested #BestPKM #PKM

  6. Recently upgraded #TriliumNotes and the most difficult part of it was in remembering - no, I don't have the RPM version installed, no I don't have the tar/gz version installed, yes I have the server version installed. Maybe I should make a note about it... But overall, I'm really happy with it as a replacement to Notion/Obsidian/OneNote/etc.

  7. @Pikapods "Updates weekly"... I'm currently on trilium.cc, which says "updates daily", but they seem to have stopped that. My sync from my local install is now broken for days. And my iPad web view gets a version from over a year ago. I get no replies from trilium.cc support or the maintainer. Should I try your service? Install my own on my RasPi5?

  8. In my search for #notes taking applications, and especially to help me track #tasks , where I was mostly looking at #Trilium, #joplin #joplinapp , and eyeing a bit #obsidan #ObsidianMD (it's not open source, and for work use would be paid), I just learned about #SilverBullet . It's certainly intriguing, but I'm not sure yet what I think about it 🤔

(Feel free to engage with this post with advice etc, I guess it is me asking)
