I usually recommend #OSMand to the more tech-savvy. #organicmaps to 'less digitalized' (and iPhone users). And/or by intended activity. e.g. hiking rural areas: #organicmaps. I am fan of both! Maybe comparing them doesn't do each app right: power or simplicity..
Sharing? Not sure what you mean. Export GPX , share with e.g. Signal, open in other app has worked for me. Will check out #Trekarta! -
The #trekarta app is truly a joy to use.
Quality of the app is top notch. Especially the interface design is worth a look.
Examples:
- every ui element gets introduced on first use
- good use of tap and tap-and-hold (roughly: toggle vs configure)
- a very interesting widget design to fine-tune showing amenities without losing oversight
- the interface stays very clean which is important for mapping applications.a rare #foss gem
