  1. I feel like there should be more turn-based sandbox city builder games.

Turn-based city builders are a very niche genre, but they're all on the minmax/puzzle side of the genre that I know of.

What if you could freely and creatively build something sandbox-style (think #CitiesSkylines / #OpenTTD / #TransportFever), and advance time and see the results of your infrastructure by pressing 'next turn'?

That could be really interesting. It's like a third way between agent and abstraction based models. It could solve the time scaling issues. It could lead to really interesting game design opportunities.

  3. Urban Games (#TrainFever, #TransportFever) have entered a 'partnership' with Paradox Interactive and the users on Steam are not happy. The post has 10x the usual amount of replies.

I didn't realize that Paradox was so unpopular but looking at the Cities Skylines 2 disaster and DLC galore for Paradox games, it figures.

  5. I've been looking for a city-building or transport game that runs well on Steam Deck and is usable with a controller for ages, and I finally found one!

Transport Fever 2 runs and controls wonderfully on Deck. I can only recommend giving it a try!

For those who don't know, it's kind of like a 3D, high-fidelity OpenTTD. It's really fun and the sequel is coming out this year too.

  7. First episode of the "First Look" series for Transport Fever 3 is out and it looks pretty damn cool! The focus is on landscapes and the map editor, and I particularly like the new sub-arctic climate.

  11. As we all know, the makers of #TransportFever2 have hinted strongly that #TransportFever3 is coming next year.

One thing I'd love to see that afaik no game has done: canals! Real canals like the British ones. And plateways etc. Start the game in 1700, not 1850.

Or am I alone in this?

  15. Has anyone else been annoyed that #videogames that let you build #rail never let you combine different forms of #transit?
For example, why can't I run a tram on train track or trains on metro lines? Sure, there times where that might not be possible (a full size train wouldn't be able to make the tight turns a tram could), but there are also lots of places in real life where these are mixed.

  16. We're almost through the week! Just one more day to go. And tonight you get to enjoy another #TransportFever2 video courtesy of me! Today we tackle a network bottleneck by constructing an ambitious freight bypass of Wichita Falls, as well as getting some Acela Express sets into service! youtu.be/PLF4Nm7DmAM #SelfPromo #YouTube #Gaming #VideoGames #TransportFever #Trains #ShareYourGames

  17. Alright, new account, so introduction time.

I've created this account to split off my gaming-related posts out of my more serious account @lachlanstevens - so here I am!

I game on PC (Windows and Linux), PS5 and Switch. I love collecting games, especially 90s-era stuff (nostalgia!)

    Some of my favourite games/series are #CitiesSkylines, #TransportFever, #MetalGearSolid, #Fallout, #DragonAge, #CommandAndConquer, #Battlefield - I also enjoy giving all sorts of different games a go!
