📖 On my recent visit to the #Museum for #EastAsianArt here in #Cologne, I discovered that the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin have just recently published an entire book about the #Thai #Traiphum (“Three Worlds”; ➡️ https://www.fabriziomusacchio.com/blog/2023-10-20-the_three_worlds/) manuscript, a richly illustrated 18th-century depiction of the #Buddhist cosmos. Needless to say, I got myself a copy 😅

The royal illuminated manuscript ‘#Traiphum’ from #Bangkok, 1776, depicts the tripartite #Buddhist #cosmos and is a testament to King Takin’s reign after the fall of Ayutthaya. The manuscript is currently on display and you can explore it at the Museum for Asian Art in the #HumboldtForum in #Berlin.
