COOPER PUPDATE!
Stitches came out yesterday, although the top one (that had been put in again last week) looked a little early...and, as we were discussing progress with the surgeon post-removal, started leaking.
Quite a bit. Drat. New stitch up top, after flushing. He's on the right antibiotics, but the plate could get a biofilm, and may need to be removed later.
He's now home with Z and I'm on my way to Japan while he rests and heals.

The culture came back today, and he's got an infection the antibiotic he was on didn't target, so he's being switched to two new ones today that target the "right" ones.
Apart from that, he's frustrated that he can't be a goof, and of course we can't explain why. But I expect continued improvement, and a return to goofiness soon.

Day three: bearing weight on the leg. Got him to come upstairs yesterday, but today he's in the entranceway again (which is fine).
Doing small, supported walks, and doing well overall.

Well, the big guy is home. Couldn't convince him to go up the stairs to the main level (supported in his help-him-up-harness, of course), so he's in the entranceway.
Brought his bed down, and he's chilling. Literally, when I'm rubbing his leg with ice (warm compresses later). He's still under the nerve blocks, which taper over 72 hours; his pain is well controlled by that and his other meds.
Two weeks of strict restriction starts today.

Just heard from the surgeon - “All done and resting comfortably, definitely a partial tear but meniscus looked solid. He said the dogs that have partial rather than complete tears heal better.”

Le Zephinouille a eu droit à sa radio de contrôle cet aprem. C'est officiel son os s'est bien remodelé comme espéré.
Même les non spécialistes peuvent le voir. Là j'ai mis les clichés de la patte gauche car je ne parviens pas à faire le point sur ceux de la patte droite mais l'évolution est la même. Perso je suis stupéfaite 😯
Il a droit jusqu'à 1h30 de balade en laisse sur parcours non accidentés. D'ici 1 mois les dernières restrictions (sprinter, sauter) seront levées 🥳🐶
