🧵I'm seeing a lot of US Americans on social media who have 'discovered' #Alicante. I see walking tours around very nondescript, modern residential streets like "w-o-o-w". Don't get me wrong, as a Spanish citizen, I spend a large part of my year in Alicante province. Nice weather, good food, nice beaches. But most of the centre of Alicante and the #touristtrap restaurants serving evening paella - meh.

I’m not sure how many actually shell out the cash for this experience—It’s currently $1000/night for 2 adults, which does not include breakfast or wifi (not sure how many channels the TV can pick up either). Here's what's there today, though now the actors in uniforms have since been banished.
I love how the McDonald's in the background fits perfectly in with the whole fake feel and surroundings (the hut is not even situated at the original Checkpoint place!!)
But it was my first ever visit to Berlin and I just wanted to see everything asap.

Rolling Stones, Stevie Nicks, KISS, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Kansas. Definitely a good act.
