    México y Japón acordaron fortalecer su relación económica mediante la realización de un Diálogo Económico de Alto Nivel, un mecanismo con el que ambos gobiernos buscan ampliar la cooperación en comercio, inversión y sectores estratégicos para el desarrollo de ambas economías.

    El acuerdo fue abordado durante una reunión de trabajo entre el secretario de Economía, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, y el ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de Japón, Toshimitsu Motegi, quienes analizaron nuevas oportunidades para consolidar la relación bilateral y fortalecer las cadenas de suministro entre ambos países.

    Durante el encuentro, celebrado en la Secretaría de Economía, ambas delegaciones coincidieron en impulsar proyectos que favorezcan el crecimiento económico, la atracción de inversiones y la cooperación tecnológica en áreas consideradas prioritarias.

    Energía e inteligencia artificial, entre los sectores prioritarios

    Los funcionarios intercambiaron perspectivas sobre el potencial de colaboración en sectores como la energía y la inteligencia artificial, áreas identificadas como estratégicas para fortalecer la competitividad, la innovación y la resiliencia de las cadenas globales de suministro.

    Asimismo, Marcelo Ebrard reconoció la participación de empresas japonesas en la economía mexicana, particularmente por su contribución a la generación de empleos, la transferencia de tecnología y el fortalecimiento de las capacidades productivas nacionales.

    El secretario de Economía también manifestó el interés de continuar explorando oportunidades de cooperación en proyectos relacionados con la modernización de infraestructura portuaria, ferroviaria y logística.

    Revisan oportunidades comerciales

    Durante la reunión también se analizaron los avances del proceso de revisión del Tratado entre México, Estados Unidos y Canadá (T-MEC) y las oportunidades que ofrece el Tratado Integral y Progresista de Asociación Transpacífico (TIPAT) para ampliar y diversificar el intercambio comercial entre México y Japón.

    Las autoridades coincidieron en que ambos instrumentos representan plataformas relevantes para fortalecer la integración económica y ampliar las oportunidades de negocios entre los dos países.

    Reafirman cooperación bilateral

    Marcelo Ebrard y Toshimitsu Motegi reiteraron su disposición para mantener una comunicación permanente entre ambos gobiernos y fortalecer una agenda económica basada en la cooperación, la inversión y el desarrollo compartido.

    En la reunión también participaron el subsecretario de Comercio Exterior, Luis Rosendo Gutiérrez Romano; la embajadora de México en Japón, Melba Pría; el embajador de Japón en México, Kozo Honsei; la directora general en oficinas del Secretario, María De Haas Matamoros, así como funcionarios del gobierno japonés. –sn–
