@robby @fedops i played with smtp servers back in 2005. to never again look back.
i can only suppose email only still exists today because we got a huge human force handing everything in the background.
and i mean orders of magnitude bigger than anything else.
i can easily self host myself anything but email.

run away from smtp maintenance if you don't get paid to do it.
all the reasons i hope the fediverse will become email 2.0
