I'd saved #Crossland filter (that previous dealer service workshop used in 2024/05) from last November (and some oil), to compare with #Mann filter - hard to see in these photos but 6 month oil change shows far less contamination (Mann filter is also made of better material)

A "sniff test" (not very scientific, but sending oil to be tested costs more than the oil!) shows less #petrol in oil compared to when #car had 12 month oil changes with previous owners

#Tomcat from a few streets away also came to inspect #vehicle, then decatted himself at speed as soon as I moved closer to the door (he always does that)

Q1 2026 malware statistics report for Windows web servers

Analysis of Windows web server attacks during Q1 2026 reveals that Internet Information Services (IIS) and Apache Tomcat servers face persistent threats through web shell exploitation. The Larva-26001 threat actor has been targeting domestic IIS servers for several years, deploying privilege escalation tools including JuicyPotato, BadPotato, and exploiting CVE-2019-1458. Following privilege escalation, attackers utilize port-forwarding tools like HTran and PortTranC to redirect traffic to RDP port 3389, enabling remote control of compromised systems. Attack vectors include file upload vulnerabilities, Web Framework-WAS vulnerabilities, and unpatched RCE services. Additional malicious activities involve deployment of backdoors, CoinMiners, and proxy tools for internal network compromise.

apparently tomcat's strategy for enabling pqc is to use two different ssl keys, a normal one (only rsa is mentioned in the documentation page, but i guess ec would work as well?), and an enormous ml-dsa-65 one for a hybrid pqc configuration: https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-10.1-doc/ssl-howto.html#Post_Quantum_Cryptography

openssl 3.5 and higher can be used to generate mldsa65 keys and stuff them and the certificate into a pkcs12 pfx file for use with tomcat, but i'm not certain which cert authorities will sign a mldsa65 certificate, if any of them support it yet

Для российских компаний выбор между серверами приложений на базе Apache Tomcat и WildFly давно перестал быть спором о «любимом стеке разработчиков». Это стратегическое решение, влияющее на устойчивость бизнес‑сервисов, стоимость владения ИТ‑ландшафтом и способность пройти путь импортозамещения без рисков для критичных систем. В современных условиях ИТ‑инфраструктура почти всегда неоднородна: рядом живут легкие веб‑сервисы и тяжелые транзакционные ядра, экспериментальные микросервисы и строго регламентированные системы, попадающие под КИИ. В такой среде попытка «посадить все на один тип сервера приложений» приводит либо к избыточной сложности, либо к ограничениям по функционалу и масштабируемости. Гораздо продуктивнее смотреть на сервер приложений на базе Apache Tomcat и сервер приложений на базе WildFly как на два разных типа решений под разные задачи – и выстраивать платформу, которая позволяет использовать оба подхода в едином управляемом контуре.

Это статья описывает опыт миграции традиционного приложения java spring на Spring reactor стек. О специфике разрабатываемой информационной системы, уже подробно рассказывал . Кратко о системе - смешанная сервисно-микросервисная архитектура. Чтобы получить бизнес результат, требуется вызвать микросервис, который вызывает сервис, который вызывает набор микросервисов для формирования ценностного набора данных. Получается цепочка вызовов. Сервисы и микросервисы разрабатывались на традиционном технологическом стеке, без использования реактивного подхода. Мое знакомство с реактивным подходом произошло в 2022 году. Плюсы и минусы я осознавал, как мог. В рамках разрабатываемой системы мне было сложно найти ему точку применения. Тогда сложилось понимание, что в существующих рамках реактивный подход не даст возможности эволюционных изменений. Если его применять, то применять ко всему и сразу, как постулирует реактивный манифест . Даешь революцию! Это было заблуждение. Его я не смог разрушить, даже изучая документацию и статьи. Чего-то релевантного моей ситуации в открытых источниках я найти не мог. Этой статьей постараюсь предложить путь и убедить сомневающихся, что долго раздумывать не стоит. Делайте смелый шаг на пути к реактивному стеку.
