  6. Observation for #HCI / #CSCW: Rather than submitting to specific conferences, I should encourage the international students in my lab to submit to #TOCHI (etc.) so that they can *choose* any ACM presentation venue that works, even if it takes much longer to be accepted. 🤔💭💡

  16. Good luck submitting to #CHI2025 🇯🇵! Hope to see you there. I'll be presenting our just accepted #TOCHI article, 'Uncertainties as Generative Resources in Research through Design'.

In the article, we reflect on our design research journeys and how we embraced uncertainties! We present three dynamics for moving in a design space and using uncertainty generatively in design research.

    dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3689041

What do you think? Do we need more uncertainty? 👻

"On the Grounds of #Solutionism: Ontologies of Blackness and HCI" (Cunningham, Benabdallah, @danielarosner & @alextaylor #tochi) which states "The problem-solution... is a dead end" and asks "What it might mean to 'unsee' solutions as end points to problems" in design. 🔥

  41. Yes! Finally managed to submit a revised manuscript for #TOCHI that has been really hard work and took the whole summer. The reviews were excellent, though, and in the best sense created a space for scientific discourse. Fingers crossed...
