  1. GTL Gemini Tinylog Reader/Editor

I've forked bacardi55's Gemini Tinylog Reader/Editor "GTL", because it seems he doesn't reliably work on his Gemini projects anymore. There were open patches for over 7 month without being merged so I did the fork, especially because I use GTL myself and like it very much. I've already fixed a few bugs and added a few features, so bookmarks are now finally usable (see the README.md about this) and preformatted text is now displayed reasonably.

You can build from the sources in Golang to get the most recent patches, cloning my Codeberg.org repository:

    https://codeberg.org/fab/gtl

If you don't want to mess around with Golang and don't want to build the sources yourself, you can directly download some prebuilt binaries, which are built for Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD and OpenBSD, each for the x86_64 (amd64) and arm64 architectures. I try to make binary tag releases on a regular basis. Download Link:

    https://codeberg.org/fab/gtl/releases

I hope for some people to test GTL and maybe give some feedback. I'm always open for ideas and problems. You can also send in Pull Requests if you find a bug or want to add a feature. If you have problems or find a bug you can use the Codeberg issue tracker for GTL:

  2. @proedie You may be inspired by my „Personal Soap Opera #Phlog”. The idea is similar to #tinylog, but it’s #Gopher nomenclature rather than #GeminiProtocol one.

  3. I’m looking at #YarnSocial (yarn.social) thread at:
    social.wake.st/@liaizon/110330
and I started thinking about cooperating #Twtxt and #Gemini #Tinylog formats. They have the same data structure, the difference is the notation only. So Yarn could easily translate the both notations into one ecosystem. Yarn docs is aware and has mentioned small net protocol in specification for eg.:
    dev.twtxt.net/doc/twthashexten

    Somewhat related —

Someone created a convention for writing "blogs" in #GeminiProtocol #gemtext

    The #Gemini #TinyLog format

To make "blogging" in Gemini gemtext more machine-legible.

  5. @hex Many people are setting new #gemini capsules, #gemlog or #tinylog entries everyday. Gemini is getting bigger, although it's "the small web". :-)
Look at one of aggregators like Cosmos, Antenna or GTL.

  6. I try to put earlier every #Gemini related toots on the #Tinylog. And there are some Gemini topics which are mentioned only on Tinylog.

Last entry on Tinylog is accessible also on #Finger.

  7. I patched my script for #tinylog publishing. The publication of the latest entry via #finger is in operation. To work with #flounder.online, save a `.plan` file. To check what's going on with me, just run the command `finger [email protected]`. You can also check the weather `finger [email protected]` immediately.
Finger also works in a number of #smallnet browsers, for eg. #lagrange. The syntax for the address is `finger://flounder.online/szczezuja`.
Long live Finger, another 50 years!

  10. @makeworld So we have #twtxt (popular in Web and #gopher), #tinylog (especially for #gemini), renaissance of #finger and now #fmrl. The first threes are about plaintext data structure, fitting into #smallnet philosophy. I don't know what about proposed #json format, or it isn't about small-net?

  11. @malzyki (From my #Tinylog) The most tempting thing in emacs is swarm of advanced packages, which seems to be superior than that of vim plugins. Vim plugins are great, but there are in most cases rather like a powerful extension of text editor. Emacs packages are more advanced, and often they are like standalone utilities embedded into mechanic of editor environment.

  12. CW: gemini tinylogs

    @bacardi55 Thanks, great idea.
#Tinylog Apogee of the whole #Geminispace!

  13. Dear Gemininauts, some where from #GeminiSpace. Besides your #gemini #capsule and #gemlog, are you ready for writing a #tinylog?
Please write your tinylogs links in reply, or write what make you to don’t write ones.

Remember about gemini://pollux.casa/member/ (@adele easy tinylogs hosting service) and #Lace (smallest and coolest tinylogs aggregator bash script - gitlab.com/uoou/dotfiles/-/blo by @uoou).

  14. @adele Your feed is added to my Lace aggregator.
Anyone else is writing a #tinylog?

  15. @adele #Lace is great utility! It would be great to popularize its unofficial #tinylog format and make people write more tinylogs.
