  10. May is stroke awareness month here in the UK, I've given a very triggering presentation on strokes to my colleagues this morning to help people recognise the symptoms after having a stroke myself last November. I was one of the lucky third of people to have a stroke to survive without lasting impacts and I'm so so grateful for that.

I want to share this very short guide to stroke symptoms to hopefully help other people to get the immediate help they will need - please, please share tf out of it, this info could save your life or the life of someone you love differentstrokes.co.uk/wp-cont

  13. Well, if I was struggling to accept I’d had a #TIA , things feel even stranger now. (I’m not good at brevity but there were parts of the story I’d omitted. Anyhoo…) On discharge I was told to 999 if I had another ‘bout’. Went to the hospital again this morning, diagnosis has now changed to a probable trapped nerve.

Relieved (very!) but struggling to get my head round this… Doesn’t help I only had 3 hours sleep last night. Feel very odd…

  18. @LJClements8

It was horribly uncomfortable being sat in a hard chair for over 9 hours, not knowing when I’d be seen. A bit worrying that two doctors in the department were convinced it was a trapped nerve rather than a #TIA

However I kept reminding myself that I was lucky not to be in America, facing bills for blood tests, the scan and ultrasound plus the rest.

Woke feeling scared but had a word with myself and all right now tho’ comforting my daughter is proving difficult. 🤗🌻

  23. Had over 9 uncomfortable hours in the Emergency Department overnight. Taken to the stroke ward this morning for further tests. Have now been discharged. It might sound ridiculous but I’m struggling to accept the #TIA diagnosis.

ED doctors I saw gave me the impression it was a trapped nerve and I’d be discharged early morning. Apart from that and the incredibly uncomfortable seats in the ED the staff were absolutely incredible. Patient, kind and caring. Empathetic. SO very grateful. #NHS
