IMHO - This has nothing to do with "space based AI" ... last I checked the sun shines on the earth's surface too...
This is financial engineering so Musk can:
1) fund his money losing and bloated valuation xAI with TAXPAYER $$$ >> aka funnel $ from SpaceX to keep xAI going.
2) mask Tesla and Twitter/X's declining values and poor results so they are less visible to investors who keep plowing $$ into these meme stocks.
3) continue his massive game of 3 card monte - look here, no look over here, no look over here.FYI - estimates are that SpaceX gets 70-80 % of its revenue from contracts with the U.S. Gov. and DoD. Exact #'s are impossible to get - SpaceX is still a private company.
