I keep seeing headlines panicking about how some economist revealed that 20% (!!!) of Canadian Mortgages are up for renewal in the next year.
Ummm, ya? Canada's mortgage market competes on 5-year terms. Sure, you can get other terms but they generally aren't as competitive and therefore are only a slim bit of the market.
1/5 = 20% is not new. It certainly isn't news!
