Iran says they're striking ships because those transits, following the US suggested route on the Oman side of the crossing, violate the MOU.
Ships have been reportedly still going through the IRGC-controlled northern lanes while the southern lanes (closer to Oman) emptied; right now, it doesn't look like anyone's in transit at all.
