This drama is way better (IMHO) than the first few episodes would lead you to believe - they have to get out of college before anything remotely decent happens.

It is truly one of my favorite slow dramas.

Yesterday, I watched episode 7 of #Kdrama #SoldOutOnYou (Netflix), but about halfway through, I found it a little boring and stopped there. Then I switched to Viki and started #TheThirdCharm, but I stopped after 40 minutes. because it seemed rather silly and frivolous to me.

Yes, I had a rather boring evening yesterday! 😒 😅

I found that #TheThirdCharm and #BecauseThisIsMyFirstLife are both on #Viki with Italian subtitles available. Since I recently subscribed to Viki, I will watch both dramas for sure. So I’ll discover more of Esom! 😀

"When the Weather Is Fine" & "The Third Charm" are my slow, savory, insightful writing gems. I won't count "Summer Strike" - it's almost there, but the criminal activity puts it in a different genre for me (not bad, actually really good, but just a bit too much suspense for a savory watch).

Note: 3rd Charm has a horrible MDL rating & you have to get past the 1st few episodes before it becomes solid.

I love this drama. I think it is very underrated. I will admit to hating the lead characters through the first few episodes, but the drama keeps getting better and better.

I watched because I love the ML & then also, because like you, saw the FL in "Because This is My First Life"

Much of the show is about power imbalances in relationships. Who confesses first? Who loves more? Who is willing to sacrifice more? There is SO MUCH symbolism in this show, some profound dialogue & 1 scene involving an apology, forgiveness & reconciliation with no dialogue - just beautiful. Seo Kang Joon can tell a story with his eyes.

Many didn't like the ending. It's one where, if you follow the symbolism & where the leads are in their lives, it makes complete sense. If you hadn't been looking for clues, you might be disappointed. I want to go back & catch all the things I missed when I was hating it. It may seriously become 1 of my favorite heart-wrenching dramas.

It has a 6.7 rating on MDL, so I had been putting off watching, even though I enjoy Seo Kang Joon's acting. After I saw Esom in another drama, I thought I'd try.

Around eps. 4 I was going to drop it, which I rarely do. I hated the main characters. But I kept going: 1) I had seen the leads' work before & couldn't believe they would have accepted parts like this. I was right. The characters improve so much. 2) Part of this drama is set in Portugal. I am visiting in a few months & I wanted to see it through a kDrama lens. Totally worth it - so beautiful!

The FL has a lot of tragic things happen in her life, one of which hit close to home for me & caused a lot of crying - therapeutic.
