Just a reminder for #kDrama fans - the lead characters in #BecauseThisIsMyFirstLife would be VERY, VERY happy right now - time for S2, I think #Arsenal #ArsenalFC

@cathy Thanks!
I found that #TheThirdCharm and #BecauseThisIsMyFirstLife are both on #Viki with Italian subtitles available. Since I recently subscribed to Viki, I will watch both dramas for sure. So I’ll discover more of Esom! 😀

Överlevde två avsnitt. Panikstartade Because This Is My First Life för att rensa luften. Jung Somin OCH Kim Gaeun måste ju bara vara bra. :yayblob: :blobcatgiggle:

The intersect of #KDrama with #Arsenal is a small one
In #BecauseThisIsMyFirstLife one of the key things that drew the OTP together was a shared love of #ArsenalFC, but other than that, I've not seen the club referenced in #KDrama . But In #MyDearestNemesis these 2 names appear in consecutive episodes. Coincidence? I think not 😀 #VictoriaConcordiaCrescit

I loved the KDrama #MyName and the titletrack

One of my fav KDramas is #BecauseThisIsMyFirstLife and the song #ThisLife is from Moon Sung Nam

And from the very first KDrama I watched 3 yrs ago the titletrack #SomethingInTheRain from #RachaelYamagata

You know what plot device I *hate*? When one of the main characters disappears for a year or three or five, usually during a fit of noble idiocy but often with no reasonable explanation & no info about where they went or why & no or little info on what prompted the character to come back.

And the character who stayed behind doesn't get mad or interrogate the person who left!

WHY????

@whoosh I'm really glad that you recommended #BecauseThisIsMyFirstLife because I'm enjoying it a lot. I really like that it presents a lot of the lows of love, as well as the highs. And, shows with strong #FemaleLeads are always a favourite for me!

@jillithd
I agree the middle couple is the best. In fact, I just started 3rd Charm because she's the lead there.

I loved her fierceness & his support, but he also told her the truth when it hurt. Very good!

Because This Is My First Life
(2017 - Netflix, 16 1:10 eps)

Unique storytelling made this a standout. It's a slice-of-life drama concerning love & marriage that was presented in a quiet but fresh way. The narrative & dialogue surprises you frequently when its simplicity becomes profound. The casting & acting was excellent.

3 adult relationships develop through the show. We see 3 women in different job situations being affected by the patriarchy. But we also get to see men oppose it. It is rare to see a woman being allowed to be smart, cute, sexy, strong, & determined - especially all in 1 character.

Unfortunately, there is 1 thing that ruined the flow toward the end. Overlooking that it was a good drama with some great messages.

Haha, it's a wonderful time of year to watch until you drop! I'm reading so many posts from folks who are ready for the work year to be done. I'm enjoying Matchmakers, Park's Marriage and Samdal-Ri. The other new shows, less so. Also racing to watch #BecauseThisIsMyFirstLife before it's unavailable on Netflix.
