The great thing of going #CoverDiving (although, that doesn't really work... more just performances) of "I've got a little list" from #GilbertAndSullivan's #TheMikado (or "The Modern-Major Generals Song") is that you get to hear new lyrics as well as little differences musically.

One of my fave films about the theatre world (it’s a bio-pic of sorts of the creation & very first production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Mikado); gorgeous production values, great cast (Jim Broadbent is especially good as Gilbert; I always thought it was funny that such a grouchy curmudgeon wrote such silly & joyful lyrics!😁), and beautiful musical score, of course! The Mikado might never have existed but for a bit of dodgy DIY. WS Gilbert said that he was inspired to write it when a Japanese sword fell off the wall in his study.

@willmckinley After the clip of Groucho in The Mikado, I immediately went to Amazon to order The Mikado on DVD. I guess a lot of viewers had the same idea because I ran into one “sold-out” after another. Finally snagged a copy at DeepDiscountDVD. Whew!
