Saw a mention of the movie #TheFinalCountdown on Reddit, and was reminded of one of the coolest shots in an aviation movie ever.
Filming was done on the actual USS Nimitz, her aircraft were used for all the hero aircraft.
So, an A7 Corsair calls in with an arrestor hook failure. This is a very bad thing, they can't stop properly in time without one. So the Captain orders the barrier raised and the flight deck prepped for a crash. Crew runs out, gets the barrier up, gets out of the way, Corsair comes in, slams into the barrier. Medical rushes out to get the pilot, everything done with textbook precision.
This wasn't an effect, wasn't a stunt flight, wasn't any sort of fakery. The A7 that was landing had an actual arrestor hook failure and the barrier recovery was 100% real emergency response, that just happened to occur during filming so they kept the cameras rolling and worked it into the story.

Can David Guetta stop ruining old songs, please?
I was already pissed off with "Blue" changing meaning of the song completely.
But this? This is both unnecessary and a travesty. He's really taken the soul out of the song. It has ruined it in such an unbelievably gratuitous way.
