Our impact starts with people. Behind every Carpentries workshop is a community of Instructor Trainers, Instructors, Maintainers, and many other contributors working together to build data and computational skills worldwide. 🌍
Instructor Trainers prepare new Instructors in evidence-based teaching practices. Those Instructors then teach workshops that reach hundreds of learners. That’s the multiplier effect at the heart of The Carpentries.

1. Due to rising costs, AWS instances used in Data Carpentry Genomics workshops will now have a fee.
2. Updated SOW Definition & Submission Guidelines.We understand that these changes are significant, and our goal is to continue sustainably providing support moving forward.

However, the #SnakeMake novice bioinformatics tutorial from #TheCarpentries https://carpentries-incubator.github.io/snakemake-novice-bioinformatics/08-configuring.html#using-config-settings-with-params says:
"Using config settings with params
Strictly speaking, you don’t have to use config in conjunction with params like this, but it’s normally a good idea to do so."
Why is this a good idea? At first take it seems needlessly verbose to me 🤷
