So, the wife is watching #BertKreischer #TheCabin and #CaitlynJenner was on. They were doing a little interview segment, and Caitlyn said something that gave me a bit of a lightbulb moment.
She said (and I'm paraphrasing this), "Being #Trans is not about #sexuality. It's about #identity."
It's not about who they want to have sex with. (I'm using the "they" because I'm not trans. It's not an "ew, not like me" statement, and because trans people can be both men and women, so, it's the non-gender-specific substitution. English is weird. Deal with it.)
It's about who they are inside.
Now, I'm not JUST realizing this... I've known this subconsciously for quite some time.. but the way she phrased it solidified the concept for me.
I, personally, don't understand why someone would want to change their gender. I don't understand because I guess I'm lucky enough to have been born the way I identify. But it's not important for me to understand why someone else would want to change their gender. They are who they are, and being who they believe themselves to be is the right path. Period. End-Stop.
