Wait, is it really not possible to get a link to a Mastodon search query?
For example, I like to give someone a link to posts resulting from this query: "from:[email protected] Costco"
PS: This is on the Mastodon mobile app. Maybe it's possible to get a link on the web app?

Great to finally have a search function that sort of works properly
If you've got Mastodon v4.2.0 on your instance you'll need to opt in for your posts to be searchable. Click on Edit Profile, click on Privacy and Reach and select Include public posts in search results

This just happened when I did a search in the Mastodon PWA:
Until now I had seen no posts being returned but this morning, I see an explicit note that search for posts is not supported on Hachyderm.

I really do get why #Mastodon doesn't have #TextSearch, but it really gets frustrating sometimes.
A saw a post I wanted to bookmark, but I wasn't logged in on this device. And so I did, and now it's gone and I can't find it again.

@glennf Yes! or maybe #Fediverse additions to provide a home for content of #EnduringInterest - with a template for many-picture blogs, to replace or to archive long threads-with-images.
Could there be an option for long-form on #Mastodon, with just 1 toot on timelines?
Connectivity would be great... & #TextSearch... are there any options now?
In the meantime, can anyone recommend html templates for personal websites interspersing text & images in this way?

@FakePlasticDunk I don't really want to search hashtags, usually. It's a big, multilingual world. It seems absurd to try to *guess* what hashtags are going to be juicy for me.
I usually text search first. Sometimes it also turns up a useful hashtag. But more often not.

Everybody should use #hashtags as liberally as possible in my view, there is no #textsearch in #mastodon, only on #hashtags
