So setting aside certain... current events that are atrocious and abysmally stupid, it turns out my "cold" is actually the flu. Yep, despite gotten my shot like a good fops, I caught it anyway. Must be a particularly nasty strain this year. Went to the clinic and got some meds though, and they're kickin' butt at least. (Though for the first day or two, they also made me a bit of a zombie, heh.) To further worsen the start to my year, I accidentally broke my nice big external monitor when I was trying to grab some tissues out of a new box which just happened to be placed next to it. (Why do those things stick in there so hard at first?!) And of course, the way those things are these days, they're more expensive to fix than to just buy a new one. Sigh. =_=;
I was hoping to start streaming at the start of the year- y'know, first stream on New Years etc. Or at least this weekend. But now I'm gonna have to wait until next weekend at this rate, just to make sure I'm not a coughing, gravelly mess. I'm self-conscious enough about my voice as it is, heh. Ah well, that gives me time to work on my website and hopefully do some writing, at least. And maybe get my tablet and PC cooperating again, too, so I can get back to drawing.
After I post this I think I'll go make my first post on Dreamwidth, since I plan to make that my main actual blog- at least until I can figure out how to do a proper blog on my neocities site. I'll update y'all when it's up, heh.

It seems I've come down with a cold just in time for New Years. Literally the moment I get home from that trip I've been on for the past week and a half. >_> Let's hope this isn't inidicative of the year ahead. (Though it certainly reflects the vibe of 2025 overall >>;;)

Mabry crimbles and all that. :B Been a long time since I made any kind of post like this, so I figured I'd just let you all know I'm still alive and whatnot, hehe. Don't have a whole lot to say at the moment; or rather, nothing I'm up to typing out right now. I'm currently in Florida, visiting family for the holidays. Should be back home on the 30th though. (Don't want to be traveling on New Years, with all the crazy drivers and checkpoints associated with it!)
I will make a longer post some other time. It'll probably be on Dreamwidth, though, since it looks like putting one up on my Neocities site would be a lot more frustrating and complicated than I thought. Shouldn't need an account to see it though; and in any case, I'll be sure to post a link to it when I make it!

If anyone has advice/tips for turning stories into comic scripts, I'd really appreciate it! I'm a writer and I'd like to turn some of my short stories (as well as specific scenes from longer ones) into comics, either through making them myself or comming them. (Probably a mix of both) But I have no real experience doing so, and I've found it tricky to distill things down sometimes. Any good tools I should be aware of? Programs, CSP templates/addons, etc.?

Weekly Update (4-8-2024)
Well I think I'm finally free of the covid garbage... *knocks on wood* All I have now are the usual seasonal allergies, whiiiich... yay rivers of pollen in the air. =_=;; Can we skip to autumn plz?But yeah, finally doing a bit better. Been trying to catch up on some things, but it feels a little overwhelming at times. Sorry for neglecting any conversations with anyone or sites! (I know I've let notifications pile up a little on a couple platforms @_@;) Also been doing some drawing lately. Besides what I've already uploaded, I have one or two other pics in the works. I'm gonna start trying to make cover art for short stories and hopefully MHO episodes (and maybe key scenes as well) in the future.
In other news, I'm finally on anxiety meds as of this past Friday! Gonna see how they work out and check back with my doc in a month. Unfortunately I noticed one of the potential side effects is one of those ones I hate and if I catch a whiff of it, I'm ditching 'em and trying something else. >.> Unfortunately a lot of anxiety and depression meds have those as possible issues. Ergh. Still, here's to hoping that won't happen for me and these things will help!
I have the next chapter of MHO pretty much finished, so that should be going up soon. Just need to finish proofreading it first after I run some errands. I've got one more little thing for Lykou, Kuna, and Gleam to encounter in the valley before the episode wraps up, and that should take at most two chapters. After that, it'll be time to launch into Wound Awakens! And incidentally, there's a subtle hint to a key plot point for that in this chapter I'll be uploading hopefully tonight. See if you can figure it out!
I'll also still be working on those short stories. I have a list of concepts I'm keeping as a draft on Cohost, as well as a separate document on my PC. Gonna be introducing more characters, though many will admittedly be more or less one-offs, at least for now. I actually started some cover art for one of them. It's gonna involve a threesome between a collie and two friends, who happen to be twins- one male and one female. When they find out he's bi and a virgin, so they playfully compete with flirting and teasing to see who can fluster him more. Aaaand of course that results in a fun threesome. :3c
I also have plans for the next installment of both Brooke and Kael's shenanigans, and the finale for Milo and Ike's little lewd adventure. I just need to think of a name for the city these stories are taking place in, hehe...
Anyway, I guess that's it for now. Like I said, still trying to catch up on things, so sorry if I seem quiet or distant. I promise I'm not ignoring anyone!

Drawing is just hard no matter how good you get. There's always a struggle and that's kinda what makes it fun. It's an everchanging struggle. At one point the struggle might be proportions or anatomy, at a later date eyes and hair. Then you decide your noses need to be better so that becomes the next struggle. In a sense, drawing and art is a perfect Zen practice to just let the bad feelings wash over you and keep on trucking out of pure spite and yearning to create and learn. My art used to have more of an oppressive and moody atmosphere, I sometimes miss it.
I think because I'm now more comfortable where I am in life it feels disingenuous? I still enjoy these things I just don't express them as much as I used to.

I am really enjoying the slower and much more focused feed on Mastodon.art . How tags are used to look up specific art, rather than to spam tags. I find the Curator Prompts also inspiring. This is genuinely how I feel an art community should be run!
